Reforged
First discovered hidden among collapsed ruins on the banks of a great river in the Savage Basin slightly over fifty years ago by elven entrepreneurs, Warforged were first believed to be simple metal sculptures. Upon repair, these “sculptures” came to life and moved with military precision. With simple hand-signs and body language, their elven discoverers herded them on to ships and sailed for home. To this day those original five Warforged remain the only ones brought back by elven hands. All following Warforged have been unearthed by Shifters, sold to the orcs, and finally sold to the highest bidder at market in Seran. Their value is measured greatly as each one is an armored unsleeping soldier. The occupation of warrior perfected.
The answer to who their crafters were has been solved in part, but how they “live” remains a closely guarded secret. While Warforged do remain for sale in Seran, secret purchases of these warriors by the individuals believed to be working for the Warforged or dwarves has driven their price ever higher as speculation grows that the days of open sales may be coming to an end.

Basic Information
Anatomy
Warforged stand between six to seven feet tall and weigh around five hundred pounds, and are similar to other humanoids in terms of general body shape and layout (e.g. five fingers and toes etc). On occasion, smaller but proportionate Warforged have been found. The "bones" of a Warforged are composed of what appears to be hollow cast iron. The "flesh" of their humanoid bodies appears to be an unknown silvery metal with the consistency of dense muscle. Interlaced over and around these metal "muscles" are thin strands of a darker metal giving the appearance of veins. Physical sensation is apparently linked to these 'veins' as they cluster heavily at the finger tips. Over this base the chest of a Warforged is covered with lightweight steel plating that seems focused on protecting a fist-sized lump of iridescent metal buried deep in the center of the chest that is surrounded by strands of the dark metal 'veins'. Although similar construction techniques are obviously used throughout, each Warforged is unique, differing in stature and proportions. Their heads are their most identifiable features, engraved front and back with runes ranging from the simple to the complex. The runes are believed to indicate rank and unit as well as their name. Most Warforged are either male or female in terms of both physical characteristics and personality, though a small percentage seem to have dropped gender-base aspects of personality.

Genetics and Reproduction
As living constructions, Reforged do not reproduce in any biological sense, though many seem to overcome this by actively mentoring or adopting biological children of a variety of species.
Growth Rate & Stages
Once Reforged, no age related growth or diminishment seems to occur. Barring accidental or purposeful death, a maximum age for Reforged individuals has not been determined.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
A Reforged individual appears to have the vision and hearing acuity of a human. The sense of taste and smell seems to be markedly reduced based on the vile concoctions that Reforged use a potions of healing.
Reforged Traits
- Ability Score Increase: the Reforging process removes previous racial ability score modifiers and replaces them with a Constitution score increase of 2 and an increase of another score by 1. Typically this is strength, but other attributes are known and related to the "physical therapy" Reforged go through as they adjust to their new form.
- Size: Reforged are the same size as their original form. Most are medium sized around 6 feet tall while a few are small sized around 4 feet tall. Medium sized weigh 400-500 lbs while small ones weigh around 150 lbs.
- Speed: Medium sized and small sized Reforged have a base walking speed of 30 feet.
- Construct Resilence: the body of a Reforged has a number of advantages over biological bodies. They have advantage on saving throws against poison and resistance to poison damage. They do not need to eat, drink, or breathe. They are immune to most diseases and they do not need sleep.
- Warrior's Rest: When taking a long rest, Reforged spend at least 6 hours in inactive state to allow internal energy levels to restore. They are not unconcious and can see and hear normally, unlike beings that sleep or mediate.
- Integrated Armor: Built-in armor plating grants a +1 bonus to armor class. Additional armor plating can be added by a specialized smith. This plating is custom built for Reforged and cannot be worn by other humanoids. Adding or removing additional armor plates take 1 hour.
- Time of their Hands: Recovered Reforged have one skill proficiency and one tool proficiency. More recently Reforged individuals retain their previous proficiencies.
- Languages: Reforged are able to speak, read and write Alliance as well as the battlefield language of Warcant. Reforged voices sound metallic and often have an echo or reverberation component.
Lifespan
Reforged do not age, and with regular maintenance, their bodies have been known to last thousands of years.
Conservation Status
At first, Warforged were considered to be arcane constructs left behind by an extinct civilization. It is now known that new members are added daily as soldiers and citizens of the Mountain Alliance are "Reforged" in a secret process.
