it is at this date that the ships of Master Darval the Landstrider landed on the coast of Aimane. although the exact location is unknown to this date, it is believed to be located in the area that today is Ascilian. In his journals, Master Darval noted "an expansive bay with white shores bright like the moon, and green fields, unspoiled and fit for cultivation."

it is at this date that the ships of Master Darval the Landstrider landed on the coast of Aimane. although the exact location is unknown to this date, it is believed to be located in the area that today is Ascilian. In his journals, Master Darval noted "an expansive bay with white shores bright like the moon, and green fields, unspoiled and fit for cultivation." The landing caused excitement among the crew, and all thoughts of mutiny dissapeared like snow in the sun. Darval noted a forest a few hundred trailbroads to the southeast, and wrote:

"these shores show us tidings of life we never thought possibly to come of the hands of the great crafters. I have beheld countless flowers I have not seen before, and the trees in the forest that lies some hundreds trailbroads to the southeast of our ships unveiled trees of breeds unknown to any scholar. I have sent forth Borri with four men to guard him; his eagerness to describe the local flora and fauna was too great to contain him.     I can not condemn him, for my own wonder of this soil is nearly as great as his. even the grass seems strangely soft to my feet, although the reason might be that I have not felt the soft touch of grass for a long time; it's pleasure has forsaken Tordisti. Since our food resources have dwindled, I have assigned hunters and foragers who will feed our crew. The first night they came back with large creatures, who resembled lizards. Their tails were broad and thick, however, and it goes without saying that our comrades thought the meat to be plenty and tasty. It was plenty, at the very least. The meat was terribly rigid, and Narma almost choked on a bony parasite wich had housed itself deep inside her piece. It was purple. Purple! many flowers in the forest are purple too, and so are the trees. This truly is an alien world.
Borri, the scholar mentioned, has described many of the plants and animals that he encountered, and he made a great framework of the division of species. His son, Borribor Bookbuilder, became known as the greatest and most esteemed scholar in the early days.     Darval has 33 recordings
