Cre
Cre’s first conscious thoughts were of cold, pain, and darkness. A rat, lost in a polluted gutter, his small body already succumbing to the effects of toxic magical runoff. His skin burned, his insides twisted, and his mind—sharp, now inexplicably aware—grasped at the fleeting seconds of his life. But rather than fear, Cre felt fascination. The agony, the decay, the pull of death—it was all so new and full of possibility. Life, no matter how brief or painful, was something extraordinary, and Cre wasn’t ready to let it go.

But above all, Cre is driven by the desire to continue living. He clings to life with every fiber of his being, always seeking more, always wanting to push the boundaries of his existence. To him, life itself makes life worth living, and he’ll do whatever it takes to ensure that his existence continues, no matter what. As the only one of his kind, Cre’s quest for new experiences may, in its own way, be a search for connection.
“Perhaps, one day, there could be more of me?” At the bottom of the ditch, his vision blurring, he felt the inevitable approach of death. But at that moment, something—or someone—heard his plea. A voice, or maybe a presence, whispered through the void: “Do you wish to live?” Cre, not understanding the words, responded in the only way he could, with a series of faint, desperate squeaks. And then, there was nothing.
And suddenly, everything.
Cre quickly learned that others did not share his love for life’s many facets. The first time he showed himself to the humans, they recoiled in fear, screaming “Creature!” and driving him away. It happened time and time again—no matter how friendly his approach, they always fled or attacked. But Cre didn’t hate them for it. He pitied them. They were clearly missing something that he had, some vital understanding of existence.
He couldn’t comprehend why they were so afraid. Life was precious, wasn’t it? Why couldn’t they see the beauty in his form, the same way he did? To Cre, it was the ultimate irony—these beings who were blessed with life were terrified of the very thing they should cherish. They were wasting their gift, while he reveled in every second of his existence.
For Cre, life is the ultimate gift—one to be experienced fully, without hesitation. His innocence and reckless curiosity often lead him into dangerous situations, but he cares little for the consequences. Every new experience, whether it’s a fight, a discovery, or an encounter with the unknown, is something to be cherished, and something to learn from. And though Cre understands that others don’t see the world as he does, he feels no particular need to change their minds. After all, they should be grateful to have been born in the first place, even if they don’t appreciate it as he does.
Cre’s self-centered nature isn’t born out of malice, but rather from his single-minded pursuit of experience. He doesn’t particularly care for the suffering of others, not out of cruelty, but because he sees life as something beautiful regardless of pain or hardship. To Cre, even the act of living through misery is preferable to not living at all. This worldview makes him oblivious to how others perceive him and his actions, and so, he often doesn’t understand why they react with fear or anger. Cre’s journey is one of endless exploration. Each day brings something new—a new place to explore, a new creature to observe, a new experience to savor. Each misstep a new problem to solve, every blockade an obstacle to overcome. He is resourceful and cunning, always finding ways to survive and thrive, even in the harshest conditions.
