The Praetorian Blade

The Praetorian Blade is the hardest blade to ever receive or take. Due to its users unrivaled powers and also the blades unique abilities. The blade was created by Emperor Hademar Kova for the first Praetor Ann Reitan who later became his wife. Ann was skilled in rune smithing and her diary containing the knowledge required to implant a new rune in the blade is kept in the Imperial library. The sword can only be wielded by someone who is sworn to protect the heir to the Kavhorian Throne, but the heir must not be a corrupt individual else the sword will tell its wield to execute them. While all the Praetors have used this sword not many have seen fit to add an extra rune to its blade. Only five have ever had good enough reason to. The first was Ann Reitan, who during caused the blade to heighten her senses to better protect her Emperor. The next was the eighth Praetor, Evodio Isak, to protect Empress Josephine Kavho during the Shan incursions caused the blade to be eversharp so that when he cut down the onslaught of enemies his blade would not dull. The Third rune was made by Yvonne Krogh the royal inventor who placed a rune allowing the blade to teleport back to the praetor after she found it left in her workshop by a servant. The fourth was placed by the twelfth praetorian Ervan Arnell who made the blade to create an extension of themselves allowing their enemies to be cut down without them ever knowing that the danger was actually behind them. The fifth rune was placed by the current High-Praetor Thilo Lothen who created a rune to allow him to teleport to reach his enemies before they come anywhere near the Empress.
