Promised

+2 Strength, -2 Dexterity, 10 Constitution, +2 Ego | 6 HP

This is the Promise of the necroborg, “Eternal life through ascendance”.  Those deemed worthy of the Promise by the Great Old Ones become the Promised during their transformation and death.  Although most Promised are human, the process has also been performed successfully on dwarves, elves, Neanderthals, and orcs.  In theory, any race sharing enough DNA to be crossbreed with humans could be successfully transformed, but the necroborg don’t seem to be interested in converting all species to their faith.

The Promised are a beautiful convergence aberration anatomy, quasi-dead, and technology.  Although they gain a slightly gothic appearance luminaries easily pass for living members of their original race.  Unlike other necroborg, promised hide in plain sight. They continue in the same careers they held prior to their transformation while secretly promoting the agendas of the Necroborg.

A promised can advance in power and rank in one of two ways.  The promised can wait for the necroplast to strengthen their body over time or they can invest in class levels.  Luminaries with class levels always out pace luminaries without class levels in the ranks of the necroborg.  Promised with class levels enjoy elevated status because they are willing to risk their existence to further the goals and objectives of the cult.

Promised Racial Traits

Size and Type: Promised are Medium undead with the necroborg subtype

Dark Vision: Promised have Darkvision. They can see with no light source at all to a range of 60 feet in black and white only.

Quasi-dead: For effects targeting creatures by type, promised count as aberrations and undead (whichever effect is worse). Promised have quasi-dead qualities.

Nanite Repair: Promised regain Stamina, Hit Points, and Edge at the same rate other characters do.  They possess nanites which mimic a living organism’s ability to heal itself.  As a full action, a luminary can spend a Edge to repair itself starting with Stamina followed by Hit Points. This nanite repair cures 1d8 points of damage and increases an additional 1d8 on every odd level.

Necroplast Dependency: The Promised maintain their appearance and health by injecting necroplast serum once per week.  For additional information on the necroplast dependency, see the "Universal Creature Rules".
