LIFESIGHT

Lifesight causes a mutation to the light and color receptors in your eyes.  Within hours of a special necroplast infusion, you become more perceptive to the presence of life. Living creatures within are visibly surrounded in a slight a halo of light and you can automatically determine whether a creature is alive or dead.  A creature in a coma, trance, suspended animation, or even masked by spell effect to appear dead can be detected by this necrograft.  You can see these halos of light up to 30-ft per mark tier.  This makes it possible to detect a living creature beyond your normal visual range. Against living creatures, the halo of light allows you ignore the Stealth bonuses from any form of visual camouflage, invisibility, and the like when attempting a Perception check opposed by a creature’s Stealth check.  Even on a successful Perception check, any foe that can’t be seen still has total concealment (50% miss chance) against you, and you still have the normal miss chance when attacking foes that have concealment. You are still flat- footed against attacks from creatures you can’t see.

Beginning at Mk 3 you can spend 1 Edge as a swift action to gain blindsight against living creatures for a number of rounds equal to the necrograft’s mark.

Lifesight can penetrate barriers, but 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, a thin sheet of lead, starmetal plating, or 3 feet of wood or dirt blocks it.  This graft does not work on undead or creatures that were never alive (such as constructs).
