SPECIAL ABILITIES
Necromorph Options Although there are common types of hive horrors each is unique. You can select one of the following abilities or spend 2 Gene Pool point from the mutations presented in the Gravity Age: Mutant Menagerie. Note these options have not been included in the creature’s stat block.

- Built for Speed: + 5 ft of movement.
- Vanish (Su): 1/day a type 2 hive horror can turn invisible for 1d4 rounds.
Scent of Death When a type 2 hive horror is slain it will release a pheromone that will either attract or warn and repel other hive horrors. The scent has a range of 400ft. When used to attract other hive horrors any hive horrors in range need only make a DC 10 Wisdom check to follow the scent each round. When used to warn and repel hive horrors will not intentionally approach the source of the scent. When a type 2 is slain it will always give off one of these scents. Burning the body actually doubles the effective range of the scent.

Type 2 hive horror are identifiable by their red molted skin and white pupil less eyes. They have comparatively less bone protrusions through their skin than other hive horrors. Standing just over 4 ft-tall a type 2 hive horror has a calm, inquisitive, almost child-like demeanor that puts people at ease. They are silver tongued and speak in terms that would lower the guard of the most stalwart soldiers. This is one of the few hive horrors that will engage in parlay.
Deceptive by nature, it seems the type 2 hive horror’s only purpose is to lure unsuspecting victims into the hive. They use their ghost sound to mimic the cries of an infant or children playing and attempt to charm the first person to respond to the scene. In times of war or invasion type 2 hive horrors use their abilities to draw enemies into ambushes where the hive horrors have superior numbers or strength. Occasionally, a type 2 will be released on a small community to “recruit” those who will not be missed. Due to its unique abilities it’s one of the only types of hive horror that will be encountered outside a hive or alone.
