SPECIAL ABILITIES

Haste Circuit (Ex) The tank horror can activate its haste circuit as a swift action to gain the benefits of haste, similar to the haste spell until it spends another swift action to deactivate it or it runs out of charges. A haste circuit has 10 charges and uses 1 charge/round.

Red Force Field (Ex) A red force field grants 30 temporary Hit Points to the tank horror, 40% fortification, and fast healing 7 (used to heal temporary Hit Points).  The red force field has 40 charges and uses 1/round while active.  Activating or deactivating the force field is a standard action.

Necromorph Options Although there are common types of hive horrors each is unique.  You can select one of the following abilities or spend 4 Gene Pool points from the mutations presented in the Mutant Menagerie.  Note these options have not been included in the creature’s stat block.

  • Blinding Flash Evolution II (Su): As a swift action, the hive horror can create a flash of brilliant light, forcing all creatures within 30 feet to succeed at a DEX save (DC = 16), or be dazzled for 1d4+1 rounds. Blind or sightless creatures are not affected by this use of this mutation.
  • Poisonous Dermal NECROSLIME : Any creature touching the hive horror with an unarmed attack or natural weapon is subject to contact with a thick gooey slime.

Wings:  The hive horror has a set of retractable wings resembling those of a giant dragonfly.  The wings grant the hive horror a fly speed equal to double their movement speed with average maneuverability.

ECOLOGY

Environment any

Organization hive

Type 14 hive horrors are somewhat rare but often operate as a tank would in the battlefield by providing heavy gun support for lesser hive horror.  Tank horrors are easily recognized by two limbs with oversized talon in addition to their clawed armed attached to their shoulders.  Its not know why but the necroborg augment tank horrors with cybernetics, armor upgrades, and integrated weaponry.  Its common to run across tank horrors with different integrated weapondry.
