SPECIAL ABILITIES
Blindsight (Ex) Chattle are sensitive to changes in dark aether granting them the ability to sense living, undead, and quasi-dead —out to 30 feet. Chattel ignore the Stealth bonuses from any form of visual camouflage, invisibility, and the like when attempting a Perception check opposed by a creature’s Stealth check. Creatures that are not living, undead, or quasi-dead gain the benefit of full concealment against chattel due to their unique visual limitations.
Sightless (Ex) Chattel do not use any visual senses and is thus never subject to any effect that requires the creature to see a target or effect.
Hive Attack (Ex) Chattel are extremely dangerous in numbers. Any time two or more chattel are touching the base of a target creature each they receive a bonus +1 per chattel touching the base of the target creature to their To Hit roll in addition to any potential flanking bonuses. This bonus only applies to melee attacks.
Necromorph Options Although there are common types of hive horrors each is unique. You can select one of the following abilities or spend 1 Gene Pool point from the mutations presented in the Gravity Age: Mutant Menagerie. Note these options have not been included in the creature’s stat block.
· Biofeedback: Damage reduction 1/-
· Built for Speed: + 5ft of movement.
· Hypersensitivity: +1 on Perception Checks
ECOLOGY
Environment any
Organization hive
Resembling a medium sized feral naked mole rat, a pack of chattel is a terrifying sight to behold. Only the slightest hints of their once human visage persist. If released in their community of origin chattel will unconsciously hunt their loved ones. Imagine the horror of recognizing a loved one’s tattoo or piercing on the beast which is hunting you.
Not everyone is deemed worthy of the promise. When the necroborg arrive with the intent of conquering a remote outpost or world to replenish their numbers. The conquered are given a choice join the necroborg and learn their truth by receiving the Promise or death. In truth only those deemed worthy of the promise are elevated to necroborg. Commoners (those without wealth, influence, fame, scientific knowledge, or class levels) are secretly and intentionally transformed into chattel.
Chattel are used by the necroborg as shock troops. While not particularly smart they are loyal due to their dependence on necroplast. When not terrorizing a community targeted for assimilation chattel are kept in pens like livestock. Luminaries find the presence of chattel unsettling and will only willingly be found in their presence during military campaigns.
