Creatures can avoid this damage with a successful CON save DC 13 + ½ the item level. You are healed an amount of damage equal to the total Hit Points that you drain from effected creatures. This healing does not allow you to exceed you maximum Hit Points. This ability does not affect creatures with the unliving universal monster rule.
