SPECIAL ABILITIES
Nanite Repair (Ex) A necroborg’s nanites heal it, restoring 1 Hit Point per hour. A confessor can spend 1 Edge as a full action to recover 6d8 Hit Points.
Thrall (Su) This supernatural power combines the effects of charm person and dominate person spells with the following exceptions. To use this ability the confessor must succeed on a grapple attempt against the target. The target must make a Will saving throw DC 21 to resist the thrall effect. A confessor can only maintain one thrall at a time. The thrall effect is permanent and can only be removed by the following methods; slaying the confessor, the confessor frees a thrall willingly, the thrall becomes a necroborg, the thrall is the recipient of a successful break enchantment spell, or the thrall is the recipient of a psychic surgery spell. Certain technological devices may work to remove a confessor’s thrall or prevent the effect all together at the GM’s discretion.
ECOLOGY
Environment any
Organization hive
On rare occasions a female luminary mystic truly devoted to the Great Old Ones and the necroborg cause undergoes a metamorphosis and becomes a confessor. Not even the necroborg are sure what causes this transformation. All that is known of becoming a confessor is that it happens to about 1 in 100 female necroborg when they achieve the equivalent of 10th level in experience. During the metamorphosis nanites in the necroplast restructure the confessor’s nervous system awakening the thrall supernatural abilities. The transformation takes 24-hours during which the future confessor is considered incapacitated.
Unlike a luminary whose life might seem almost unchanged by the promise, a confessor is consumed with direct service to the Great Old Ones and spreading the dogma of necroborg philosophies. They head up sleeper cells and hidden enclaves on worlds deemed suitable for assimilation. Confessors use their thralls to infiltrate organizations when sending a luminary isn’t an option or would endanger necroborg operations.
