LUNG LICHEN
Lung lichen is one of the rare symbionts with limited side effects. The lung lichen attaches to your lungs, letting you survive longer without having to breathe. Lung lichen recovers oxygen from what would normally be exhaled as CO2 and recycles it. The host can remain active in an airless environment up to 10 minutes per point of Constitution and can refresh their air supply by spending 1 Edge. If the host exhausts its air supply normal, suffocation rules apply.
Lung lichen also filters the host’s air, granting a +2 bonus to saving throws against inhaled poisons or other airborne toxins.
Lung lichen does not provide any protection from exposure to vacuum or decompression, but is often used in combination with vacuum fungi.
