Preyan Legates

Origins

The first Legates of the Emperor were the three people to assist Jid Percivus in the overthrowing of the old Emperor. The Emperor deemed them crucial to the proper operation and security of the new empire, and given powerful titles placed at the right hand of the emperor. They sometimes serve as ambassadors for the Empire in high risk situations.

Roles

The Raven

  The Raven of Preya is the direct agent of intelligence, espionage and subterfuge to the Emperor. The Raven answers directly and only to the Emperor, but often works and cooperates with the Preyan Spymaster in things related to Preyan security. The Raven is most utilised for tasks of utmost importance and secrecy. The Raven collects information, conducts espionage, and occasionally conducts assassinations. Trained to be the one of the best spies and assassins in the world, they mention of the Raven strikes fear into enemies of Preya.

The Eagle

  The Eagle of Preya is the direct agent of military strategy, military intelligence and combat. Also only answering to the emperor, as well as working with the Preyan generals. The Eagle has the expertise and authority to take the place as a military commander to directly carry out the emperor's strategies. The Eagle often assists in military planning, advising the Emperor in military matters, and serving as the Emperor's Champion if needed. Trained to be one of the best physical fighters in the world, there are few that match up to The Eagles power.

The Owl

  The Owl of Preya is the responsible for the knowledge of the many types of magic in Aervos, as well as an observer and adviser on the different realms. The Owl must have the ability of several different types of magic, and then knowledge of most if not all other types of magic. They use this knowledge to recognise any important magic threats, as well as any opportunities relating to magic. They also must observe any major happenings inside the throne realms and the spirit realm. They can recommend what throne to ally with in case of dire circumstances. The Owl is trained to be on of the most potent multi-type magic users, and has gained the respect of many magic users around the world.

Training

The potential candidates for the three legate positions are scouted personally by the legates, for natural gifts in the certain skills needed for the legate positions. Those chosen are taken to the capital city of Preya to begin their training as apprentice legates around the age of 12-14. They are then trained in their respective areas. The apprentice Raven is trained in ways of espionage, subterfuge and stealth combat. The apprentice Eagle is trained in the ways of military strategy as well as physical combat. The apprentice Owl is taken to the origins of common types of magics and taught them, as well as being shown and lectured the different types of realms existing in Aervos. By the time the Legates give up their status, around 40 years old, the legates are well trained enough to be full fledged legates.
