Dwarf (Dw-orv-s)

Dwarves are short-statured humanoid creatures with stocky builds, strong muscular features, and broad shoulders. They have prominent facial hair, including thick beards and bushy eyebrows, and often wear elaborate braids or ornamentation in their hair.

Dwarves reproduce sexually, with a period of pregnancy lasting several months, and a lower incidence of birth defects and genetic disorders compared to other species.

Dwarves mature at the same rate as humans, but they’re considered young until they reach the age of 50. On average, they live about 350 years.

Underground environments, particularly in mountainous regions or areas rich in minerals and metals.

Dwarves have a preference for hearty foods and alcoholic drinks.

Dwarves are proud and hardworking individuals who value their community and traditions. They have a deep sense of loyalty and are known for their resilience in the face of adversity.   They are highly skilled craftsmen who take pride in their work, striving for perfection in their craft.   Dwarves also enjoy celebrating important occasions with feasting and revelry.

They have excellent hearing and sense of smell, allowing them to detect the presence of hidden enemies or approaching danger. Additionally, they have a high tolerance for low visibility conditions, such as fog or smoke. Dwarves also have a natural resistance to being blinded or otherwise impaired by such conditions, which allows them to navigate through dark and hazardous environments.   Their sense of touch is also well developed, as they are skilled in mining and stonework, and have a knack for recognizing the texture and quality of various minerals and stones. While their eyesight may not be as acute as other creatures in bright daylight, they have adapted to their subterranean environment and often have superior vision in the dark, allowing them to navigate underground tunnels and caverns with ease.
