Terran Confederated Republic Territorial Army

The Territorial Army is the largest branch of the Terran Confederated Republic's Armed Forces. Though not attached to naval assets like the Marine Corps, TA assets will be assigned to colonies, and see combat in non-Earth conditions frequently. Operating exclusively out of garrisons and planetside military installations, the Territorial Army is in charge of military policing actions and overall defense of friendly assets, and is generally given command during ground operations due to their familiarity with terrain and locations on the ground.

Structure

Like nearly every military organization in human history as well as its sister services, the Territorial Army is organized into four tiers; Officers, warrant officers, non-commissioned officers, and enlisted personnel. Officers represent the best the branch has to offer, giving commands and seeing that the nation and her colonies are protected. Warrant Officers are afforded the respect of junior Officer, but without the full privileges of one due to their essential knowledge and skills. Non-Commissioned Officers represent squad leaders, fireteam leaders, and possible future officers. The enlisted man represents your typical grunt. As with all three branches of the TCRAF, they utilize a stratified rank-grade system based primarily off of the former United States' military.
