Merric Maekrics is an advanced Mercenary of the Elfar Swamps. His skills are mostly found from using Speed to his advantage. Being a Lizardfolk, Merric had always known how to survive and forage for food. He had made his weapons from his enemies and prey from their bones and other features. Despite being a mere skilled combatant, Merric has been known for his determination and resilience, which makes him one of the most dedicated Sell-Swords of the Sanctuary.    

Backstory

In Elfar, there are many traditions amongst the natives of the Swamp Regions. Some believe that Leisure and Happiness is the greatest of all wonders, some decide that ambition is greater. Though the Lizardfolk of the Woesar Tribe, they believe that the only way to achieve Greatness is over constant work and training. When Merric was born, he was set straight to work as a forager, making meals for his tribal allies until the age of 6. He was born as a twin, his brother doing most of his heavy lifting, due to him not being as strong. Though when the Tribe had to make a sacrifice in order to save itself from a fearsome black dragon, and had chosen for Merric to be the sacrifice. Though his close family members did not care, his twin had shown a shocking sign of humanity, and volunteered after forcing Merric to leave the Tribe.   Merric, for the first time in his life, was alone. He was left to defend himself from the dangers of the swamp, with merely his fists. For two months, the Young Reptilian had nowhere to go. This was until he had trained the art of hunting. It took him a few days to catch his first meal, a Giant Tortoise, which he devoured with delight. He had taken it's shell and used it as a shield for his back. Throughout the days of his hunting skills, Merric had found himself using improvised weapons to take on anyone who opposed him. He was actually quite successful for his first sessions of hunting, but he had soon become prey to another's trap. A boulder had crushed Merric, laid by a fierce hunter. He had managed to squirm free but his tail couldn't be saved. In his last moments of Conscious, Merric had disarmed the Hunter and used his weapons to slaughter him. Merric then collapsed.   When Merric had awoken, he had been transported into the bathhouse of a small village. He had seen that his equipment, including the ones he used to kill the hunter, was beside him. The weapon that drew his attention the most was a set of 2 Hook Swords. It took time for his recovery to be set into stone, but in the end, Merric had claimed back his strength from before, and swore to defeat his tribal background, to prevent other young from being sacrificed. Merric had decided to stay in this rural area. He practiced with his new weapons and found it easy to begin with, having become a protector of the Swamps from monsters. Though soon he had drew overconfident in his works, and went back to his Tribe alone to face them. What he saw though, was something that horrified him.   When he got back to his old home, he was mortified to see it covered in thick tar, a mixture of acid and a black substance. His entire past was coated in a cruel Napalm. From the depths of it, a Black Dragon rose from the corpses, and with the flap of it's wings, it escaped before Merric could even vow for his vengeance. All he wanted was to free the innocent of his settlement, and now he had to defeat a dragon.    

Powers and Abilities

  Merric is a ruthless but level-headed combatant. His weapon of choice is a pair of Hookswords, which he can use to eviscerate his enemies with ease. He is also known for his lizardfolk traits, and has also uses the bodies of his victims, or dead creatures, to his advantage.
