A deadly virulent disease known as the Scarlet Plague (because of the scarlet marks the disease created on the skin) strikes in Elysia (Country) over a course of a year. The Sages send Sage Taggart - one of their finest academics and researchers of disease to the country to help cure it. All of Taggart's attempts fail and by the time the disease had run its course, it had killed thousands in the whole country.
