Gashel the submerged

Gashel the submerged. Who? You might ask. Oh, no wonder you don´t know him. I suspect you are no pirate, so that is no wonder. But worry not, I will enlighten you.

Lord of the oceans halls

Most Pirates believe that Gashel, mostly "seen" in visions induced by a hefty amount of rum, is the god who rules the sea and is responsible for ships either sinking or surviving a storm. They firmly believe that in some place in the deep Gashel rules his kingdom from a hall made of gold, silver and nacre, served by the beasts of the ocean, the Leviathan beeing his archenemy.

Gashels Appearance

That is something which is heavily discussed, but most of his votaries (beeing pirates) believe that he looks like an old, suntanned captain which seaweed in his grey hair and beard, wearing valueble robes in all shades of blue, green and grey together with a crown made from the bones of a Leviathan. His eyes should be of such a piercing blue, that they should make saphires look bad. But his trademark is an ancient but still very sharp harpune that he uses to fight the Leviathans.

The Service

As mentioned in the chapter about the Pirates, since they are a greedy pack they mostly sacrifice prisoners like sailors or tradesmen by ramming an harpune in their guts and pushing them overboard. This has never been written down, most historians and experts like me believe they are just too greedy to spare some coins or rum for their god. Exept one time a year on the sixth full moon on Scorpionisland, the council loads a boat with all kind of precious things, bags of gold and a few barrels of rum, lets it drift out to sea and the lights it on fire at midnight.
