Frankfurt

Frankfurt is the capital city of The German Empire

History:

Frankfurt was a city state and was one of the most important city within the Holy Empire. After it lost this special status after 1866 with The Kingdom Of Prussian annexing it. It was one of the major city's of The German Empire before its first collapse in 1918, where it became apart from The Weimar Republic. Following successful the Kapp Pustch, resistance in the city was crushed by local Frekicorps unit's.

Becoming the Capital:

After Communist's took Berlin and proclaimed The German Soviet Republic, Wolfgang Kapp's and the government fled to Frankfurt and further secured control over Western Germany as the first engagements between Government and Communist forces, began. A civil war, erupted between Kapp's monarchist government in The West and The Communists in the East.

In January 1920, a ceasefire was proclaimed and West German Goverment, declared the city its new capital as The Reichstag was also used and later became the official government body of The German Empire.
