The Verdant Veil

Amid the stone and dust of the Quarter of Sable Waters, there is one place where greenery defies the desert—the Verdant Veil, Dum Ramil’s most renowned herbalist’s shop. Hidden within a walled courtyard overflowing with lush plants, this sanctuary of fragrant blossoms and shadowed alcoves is a place where remedies, poisons, and mysteries are cultivated in equal measure.

A Garden of Life and Death

The Verdant Veil is no ordinary herbalist’s shop. Within its overgrown walls, rare plants from across the desert—and beyond—are cultivated with care and secrecy. Here, one can find elixirs to mend broken bones, draughts to cloud the mind, and poisons so subtle they leave no trace.

The shop is overseen by Sariya the Greenhand, an enigmatic figure whose knowledge of flora rivals that of any scholar. Some claim she can hear the voices of plants, others say she knows the true name of every flower, root, and vine, granting her mastery over their hidden properties. Whatever the truth, her clients range from merchants and healers to assassins and alchemists—each seeking something only she can provide.

The Veil’s Hidden Knowledge

Beyond simple tonics and teas, the Verdant Veil is rumored to possess ancient formulas and lost alchemical secrets. Some whisper that beneath its courtyard lies a subterranean garden, where plants not meant for mortal hands grow in the dark. Others believe the shop is guarded by something unseen, a force that ensures only the worthy may enter.

A Sanctuary for the Knowing

Unlike the bustling markets of Dum Ramil, the Verdant Veil is a place of quiet and contemplation. Those who enter its gates do so with purpose, whether to heal, to harm, or to unlock secrets buried in the roots of the past. But all who leave understand one thing—the Verdant Veil does not merely sell plants. It sells possibilities.

"A flower’s beauty hides its venom, and a healer’s hand can just as easily kill. Those who walk the Verdant Veil must know this well."
