Eiluned's Dance
Eiluned's Dance is a ritual and spell known to users of potasz, though sometimes kalium lithomancers also learn it.
The completion of this ritual with all the necessary components will create a temporary Sanguine or Choleric terrain, eliminating any silica-based matter in the desired area.
This ritual is often done to clear fields of machinery, "code" (they believe metal from digital machines poisons the land), and "pests" which are typically silica-based creatures like Nachkoma.
It also acts as a seasonal task for many farmers in places like Eskern Forest, which has a cyclical period of destruction every 81 years (9 years outside of the forest).
In some forests such as the Naefergrene ForestTK, Double Walkers and Alrauna often patrol and set up wards to block the effects of the spell.
History
It was a spell created in a forgotten era known as the Coriniaid Explosion. It has gone through several incarnations and traditions, at some points functioning as more of a religious ceremony, and at other points a necessary pesticide. Over time the ritual has evolved to be much more specific in its actions.
The most famous execution of this spell is typically during Eskern Cycle tournaments when Crossing the Hogsweed Mile. Many Nachkoma, which are silica-based life forms, hide out in this area and hunt Milenakos and Cambion.
Execution
This spell is most effective during the late winter to early spring. No one's really sure why. So it tends to get associated with the Eskern Cycle, which occurs during Rantaranos, a springtime month.
It requires three participants of any gender to act out a series of motions, somewhat like a passion play, in order to call down one of Yem's noble daughters, the seeress Eiluned. The motions include rising from the ground, before staggering in a circle known as "Walking the Bloody Acre".
This is done to allow the participants to seek the nearest underground brine source. Thus, at least one of the participants must be able to do dowsing for potasz.
Once this is done, one participant marks a particular spot and brings their dowsing staff down upon the land above the water source and sends a wave of vibrations into the ground, while the two other participants have a mock battle to stir up the heat of the earth.
A previously marked and warded barrier is already in place to determine what sort of terrain will be summoned, and using motions, the brine is electrolysed beneath the earth and erupts in a geyser of steam.
The area is subsequently transformed over the course of the next day's cycle, into a Sanguine or Choleric terrain. How long it lasts depends on the phase of the moon - and eclipses make it last longer. The most powerful ones are down during solar eclipses.
