Volutorinn
Volutorinn is a Holy Sword crafted by Kendra, the True A'arden Goddess of Water and Purification, with the help of her cousin Adarvan (the True A'arden God of Fire and the Forge) as a gift for Her first Chosen, who went on to become an Ascended in service to Her, Okeanos.
The weapon is classified as a longsword, and features a grip shaped like a volute shell, with the elongated aperture of the first whirl acting as a hand guard.
It is considered a magical weapon, with a finely sharpened blade and a hilt that adapts to the hand of its wielder. The sword can only be used by a Chosen of Kendra, and attempts by any other to wield it will result in serious injury via cold damage, usually from some kind of magical explosion or overload. Volutorinn is known to have the ability to control water, though the extent of this control has never been fully revealed. It is also known to have the ability to purify and heal, as well as create light.
History
Volutorinn was specifically crafted as a gift for Kendra's first Chosen, who later became an Ascended. The sword was passed to the Order of the Water's Light, the largest of the religious groups to Kendra at the time, for safe keeping, when Okeanos Ascended, though the Order eventually shrank in size to become dedicated solely to protecting the Volutorinn and serving the Chosen of Kendra whenever they were identified.
When not wielded by a Chosen of Kendra, the Volutorinn remains with the Order of the Water's Light in their Chamber of the Chosen.
Known wielders of the Volutorinn have included those listed below, though not all Chosen are recorded in general history. It is believed that all wielders of the sword have had their names inscribed into the walls of the Chamber of the Chosen.

Significance
Volutorinn is classified as a Holy Relic and is therefore religiously significant to the followers of Kendra. It is ferociously protected by the Order of the Water's Light when it is not being wielded by a Chosen, and when it is in a Chosen's Hands, a member of the Order is assigned to them as an Aide to ensure that it remains "in the correct hands".
