Verglas

Verglas is a broadsword-type weapon predominantly associated with stories from the frozen wastes of Ashenrime Isle. Most of the stories about the sword attribute it to a female wielder, but the majority of them give her no name, simply calling her "the Ice Warrior" or "Frost's Queen". It is believed that the sword may be related to the Archfey known as Seán Mac-An-Deigh (or more often by his Common name, Jack Frost), and that the female wielder may well be a Pact-Keeper or other associate, perhaps even a wife.

The straight, double-edged blade is crafted from blue steel, and features engraved snowflakes and depictions of the wind, inlaid with a mix of crushed diamond and blue topaz. The basket hilt is shaped like an elaborate snowflake, the grip bound in white leather, and the pommel fitted with a large, faceted, polished diamond.

Verglas' legends state that it has ice and wind-based spellcasting abilities, and that the blade itself does cold damage on impact, suggesting that it has been enchanted. The stories also note that it may well be keened, and that it allows its wielder to walk across snow and ice without difficulty.
