Mana Stone

Mana Stones are a type of crystal that grows quickly within mountain caverns close to high concentrations of Arcane Weave energy, such as Weave Wells or Ribbon Entanglements. In their raw state, they are a highly volatile material that can cause catastrophic damage or injury with a single false move. For centuries, they were considered extremely dangerous and the discovery of Mana Stone Mines was often a cause for fear. However, it was discovered late in the Age of Dragons that it was possible to purify a Mana Stone in a similar way to how a Mana Core within a person purifies Weave energy for use in spellcasting.

History & Usage

Everyday use

Mana Stones are used in their purified form as spell containers, magical boosters, power sources, and components for spellcasting, alchemy and herbalism. Raw Mana Stones can be used as improvised explosives, however there is no way of controlling the resulting burst of Arcane energy.
