Nataliya Tatiana Irina va Geveria, Empress of the White Throne
Born the Thirteenth (and last) Imperial Princess of The Imperial Family of Geveria, Empress Nataliya survived the initial conflict for the Throne of the Empire of Geveria by virtue of being born female. Seeing her as no threat to their superiority, despite her being born under an omen of greatness, Nataliya's twelve brothers ultimately killed each other until only one, Vitaliy, the Fourth Imperial Prince, remained and became Crown Prince. Vitaliy was twenty at the time, and Nataliya only two, so Vitaliy left her alive to use as a political pawn. Vitaliy took the White Throne forcibly when Nataliya was ten, and by the time she was eighteen Nataliya was little more than a prisoner in her Imperial Palace.
However, shortly after her nineteenth birthday, Vitaliy left Geveria to personally oversee their Empire's part in the War of Countless Faces in far away Curtana, which had been started by their Father. With her brother out of the way, Nataliya spent the next nine years plotting, scheming, and building up her own loyal political faction, before rising up and overthrowing her brother, forcing him to withdraw from Curtana to confront her. Nataliya was ready for him, however, and managed to outmaneuver him and take the Throne. Nataliya had Vitaliy tried in an Imperial Court and he was executed for the crime of assassinating the previous Emperor.
Empress Nataliya has since set about revolutionising the Empire of Geveria, focusing on creating and maintaining better relations with their neighbours rather than the hostile, expansionist manifesto of the previous Emperors. While her ascension to the Throne has led to some tensions, particularly with the Silver Hand of the North of Eirinn, her popularity amongst her people has seen that neighbouring rulers have refrained from any attempts to remove her from her position in favour of "waiting and seeing".
Nataliya married the second son of a neighbouring Kingdom, Kiran Udara, in what was described as a "True Love Affair" by her people, in early 1483. Nataliya bestowed upon him the title of Emperor Consort, and between them they changed the law to allow any child of theirs, be they male or female, the chance to ascend the Throne in a competition of competence, rather than blood. Her first child by him, a daughter named Alyona, was born at the end of 1487.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Nataliya is a tall and slender woman with reddish-brown hair that reaches to her waist. She is considered elegant and refined in her movements, and while seeming frail at first glance is resilient and adept with blade and bow.
Body Features
Fair skinned and long-limbed, Nataliya's long, luxurious hair and faintly pointed ears (evidence of her mother’s mixed heritage) are her most noticeable features.
Facial Features
With angular features, high cheekbones and upturned, almond-shaped eyes, Empress Nataliya is considered to have a refined and sharp face that allows her to display an expression of cool indifference with ease. She is considered very beautiful, but also appears stern. Her blue eyes are dark in tone, however, which softens her appearance slightly.
Identifying Characteristics
Nataliya's most immediately identifying feature is her long red-brown hair, which she has grown down to her waist. Most often seen with it elaborately braided and decorated with seasonal flowers (a show of humility and respect to her people), Nataliya will switch her accessories to decorative jewels and chains for formal occasions.
