Dhaoinesìthiche/ Dhaoinesìth

Related to the Elves by a common ancestor, Dhaoinesìthiche (trans. “People of the Fey/People of Peace”) (or Dhaoinesìth (lit. “population”), for short) are Sapient bipeds with bloodlines that all originate in Tìr na Sìthe, the Land of the Fey. They are descended from the Sluagh who chose to evolve into a more "stable" bodies in order to perform sacred duties given to them by both The Ancients and the Risen Fey. Dhaoinesìth are referred to in the singular as a Duinesìthichean or Duinesìth, sometimes Commonised as "Duenya-Shee", which is often used as both the singular and plural forms.

A relative of the Elves/Ellynyn in that they share a common ancestor, the Sluagh Àrsaidh, Dhaoinesìth are still considered a distinct species separate from them with distinct magical traits. Despite this common ancestor, Dhaoinesìth are closer in physical nature to their ancient Fey origins than Elves due to their physical forms having originated within Tìr na Sìthe, rather than The Material Plane of A'arde . Many Dhaoinesìth have traits associated with this original Fey lineage that are related to the Seasons, and all Dhaoinesìth are capable of performing the ability known as a Fey Step.

Dhaoinesìth are generally taller than their Elven cousins, averaging around 6', and are typically considered to have a less delicate appearance, with stronger features, broader shoulders, and a heavier musculature. They are still considered stunningly beautiful, and are born with tattoo-like markings across the top half of their faces that can be used to identify bloodlines. They reach physical maturity at 25 years of age, slower than Elves, and become fertile at around 100 years. However, Dhaoinesìth have very different lifespans depending on their origins: Common Dhaoinesìth (those from the Material Plane or Border-Fey) generally reach between 800-900 years of age, while Noble and Elemental Dhaoinesìth (from Tìr na Sìthe or Tìrean na Sìthichean Eileamaideach) are functionally immortal. Most Dhaoinesìth are followers of the Sylvan Pantheon, though Material Dhaoinesìth are also likely to follow the Elven or True A'arden Pantheons, while Feykin Dhaoinesìth may also follow the Tuatha de Danann.
