Aide to the Noble House of Fenbrook
For many, any sort of employment under the Noble House of Fenbrook is considered a desirable role. However, even amongst those of Noble origin, the role of Aide to the House is a sought after profession that many a son or daughter would be pressured into attempting to obtain if they weren't already inclined to do so because of their own ambition. To be able to work closely with the Lords of the House Branches is considered a supreme honour, especially if you happen to reside in a region that is overseen by the First Branch, and thus, the High Lord and Lady themselves.
The High Lord is known to have three Aides that work for him and his family directly, while the other Branch Lords tend to have one or two. Each of the properties owned by the House also has a Resident Aide, who manages the property alongside the Butler and attends important events or meetings in place of the Lords when required.
Career
Qualifications
No official qualifications are required for the role, as House Fenbrook is willing to train promising candidates in maths, reading and writing.
The application and selection process can last up to a year, and involves a rigorous training and assessment regime. Successful completion of the process does not, however, guarantee continued employment, as there is a further one year probation period, within which new recruits are the subject of intense scrutiny and further assessment.
Career Progression
As an Aide, the next step in career progression is to become the Personal Aide to one of the Lords, with the highest tier being Personal Aide to the High Lord.
Some Aides instead choose to step sideways into the role of Butler or Logistics Administration, depending on preference.
Payment & Reimbursement
Aides are paid exceptionally well by the House, seeing starting rates from 60G per month (plus 10G during Eadar-Amail) during training/assessment and probation. Some aides are known to earn as much as 200G per month, giving them access to an incredibly wealthy lifestyle.
Other Benefits
As with other employees of the House, Aides are provided with housing and uniform, as well as offered meals and access to education. Employees are free to study their own interests in their spare time using resources of the House, including music, art, literature and history, amongst many other subjects.
Additionally, employees of the House are offered respect and subservience when recognised out in the rest of the world, and it is considered a massive social faux-pas to insult or otherwise harm an employee of the House, particularly one of the First Branch.
Perception
Purpose
The role of Aide supports the Lords of the House directly with diary management, transport, logistics, personal errands and assistance in their daily management of their estates. An Aide that is assigned to a property rather than directly to a Lord will assist the Butler in household management while the Lord is absent from the property. They also act as a stand-in for the Lords at important events and meetings, though do not have the authority to make executive decisions without notifying their Lord first.
Social Status
An Aide to the House is considered a position of high social standing, despite the fact that it is open to both Aristocrats and Commoners alike.
Operations
Dangers & Hazards
While working as an Aide is considered relatively safe as an occupation, the risk of physical violence still exists due to the sensitive nature of the work done. Additionally, attempts to assassinate members of the Nobility from rival groups mean that Aides are often exposed to traumatic incidents and frequent poisonings.
The role of Aide is legal and considered a staple within Aristocratic households across the globe. Laws regarding Aides can vary, but due to their position of extreme privilege and power, the House is usually exempt from many of them, and are governed by their own rules and tenets.
