A world anvil article tutorial using a world anvil article, my mind has been blown. great advice!
How do I wrap text around an image within an article?
You would use the [img:82765|left] example! It should look something like this:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Phasellus id metus at nisi pulvinar tempor. Is there a way to say... import 50 pictures at once? I have many characters and have a picture by them to remind me of speech patterns, mannerisms etc, and really would rather not do them one by one...
Would it be possible to have image-embedded bbcode images? IE: you would still have to add the image via the upload/gallery, and use the bbcode link to link it to the article, but the bbcode is using the original image host rather than hosting the file on your servers itself.
The system already functions by using bbcodes to reference a URL. When you upload an image, it gives you an option to include the original URL. If you included the feature for images to be added without uploading files, and for images with custom url's to embed THAT url instead of the local url. ex. src="/uploads/images/" vs "if bbcode has customurl, src="customurl"" This would still make it easy to locate and delete violating images by deleting the bbcode img, but would reduce the amount of data the server would need to host, and permit more content w/ less data.
Sounds like a neat feature! Can you put in a feature request to our dev? Click on the link right at the very bottom of World Anvil that says Suggest a Feature to do so :)
Is there any way to insert multiple images on the same row? As in, to not have images appear like this but instead more like this?
Try using the rows and columns bbcode
[row]
[col][img:123][/col]
[col][img:123][/col]
[/row]
[row]
[col][img:123][/col]
[col][img:123][/col]
[/row]
It only lets you create up to 3 columns, it won't work if I want to have 4 or 5 images in a row, which is a thing I'm actually in need of.
Firstly, let me say thank you for the article....I reference it almost daily. Secondly, do you know how to make the artist credit bar match the image size? For example, if I do [ img: 12 3 4 5|left|200 ] And it has the credits of 'Artpiece by Aevri' the image will be smaller, but the bottom grey bar with the credits will still be the same size as if the image were full size. Thanks again for writing this!
Is it possible to upload just a photo to the "Prose" section? I want to make a comic, but I don't know if I should just make a link to it or include it on this website. I want to make sure it's obviously separate from the background information Thank you!
Is there any way to move or delete a large number of images at a time? I know how to upload a bunch at a time, but I foolishly uploaded around 100 pictures before making a gallery and now I have a ton of un-categorized pictures I want put in a single gallery
Hopefully someone will see my question and respond. I am still pretty new to WorldAnvil and I have become unhappy with one of my current worlds, so instead of deleting it and starting over, I am just going to get rid of all the messy stuff I made and sort of restart it. However, I added a couple images and galleries, could someone please tell me how I could get rid of BOTH of these.
For deleting just go to the first option on the left menu, click the arrow "<" to open the world menu, go to configuration and the button to delete your world should appear, if your images are uploaded on the world you want to delete, probably they will be deleted too. In case you have your images in another world, just go to the same world menu, but this time you select images instead of configuration. Unfortunately I don't know how to delete multiple images at once, it would be helpful a select option, witch can mark all images to be deleted.
How do you delete a gallery? I have two galleries with the same name because I didn't think it created properly the first time.
What size of image would you need in order for it to be clear? I have used many images in my world, but they all come out grainy.
Greetings. I have an issue and I'm running Firefox in case that makes a difference. There is no "Gallery" button to be found on the page with my photos. I'd like to organize my pictures but the option doesn't exist. Am I required to use Explorer/Edge or Chrome? I hope not . . .
I'm having this same issue on Chrome. I don't see a "Gallery" button anywhere and I don't see anywhere to create folders for images. Hopefully answers you soon!
I was having the same problem earlier today... figured out that the "create gallery" option doesn't pop up until you click on the world you want to make the gallery for. i.e. when in the "Images & Files" window, there will be a list of your worlds on the left of the screen. Click on the world you want and the gallery option should appear. Hope this helps!
I'm new here and trying to see how things work. I've found a few problems and have a question. First: How do I create a gallery? I've read the information above but I have no button to press. I've looked and re-read numerous times. Second: I select "Images and Files" from the menu on the left and I see the images that I've uploaded of each character. I've run into three problems: 1) The delete button does nothing. 2) The replace button takes me to a 404 error page. 3) I can drag an image into the drag / drop zone and something seems to happen. But in the end nothing happens. I can't seem to get these image files moved from the drag/drop zone to the images section.
Update: I just discovered that galleries only show up when a world is created. The delete button only works in the gallery. I was trying to delete from "Recent". My comments above concern the "Recent" folder.
I have a small problem with the order in which gallery images are displayed. In the middle of creating a set of serially linked story articles with header images I realised I needed to change the naming scheme of the articles. After doing this I noticed that the images had retained the old names and were shown in the wrong order in the gallery maintenance function, which appears to show things in alphabetical name order. To correct this, I removed and re-added the images, after which they had a consistent naming scheme and appeared in the correct order in the gallery editor. Unfortunately on the site page they are presented in a different order which appears to be image ID order, over which I have no control. By adding them again I broke this ordering. Is there anything I am missing that can control the display order in both places? One possible work around would be for me to delete ALL the images in the gallery again and re-add them in the order I want them shown. This would work because the naming scheme on my articles is in alphabetical order and they'd be allocated IDs in order as well so everything would then be aligned. It's a bit painful though (I have more than 30 images in this case), so if there is some better way of controlling the gallery display order (and it shows the same in both the file editor and on the site view) that would be super useful!
My suggested workaround did work and wasn't TOO painful, although I still think some kind of gallery order attribute is needed for images added to a gallery.
I came to this page with this same issue, manually deleting and reuploading each image individually is tedious and there really should be a way to reorder the gallery.
I paste the BBCode on one of my species image tabs which said ID but it's not pasting the image.
Is there any way to insert videos in the sidebars of your articles?
Of course! Just use the youtube bbcode tag, it works in any bbcode-enabled field. The sidebar fields are in the "Sections" tab of the article editing page. More information on bbcode commends here.
The link for How to find images for your world under heading HOW TO FIND IMAGES TO USE IN YOUR WORLD returns a 404, the article no longer exists at the URL provided (there's also no credit to the author, but that doesn't quite matter when the article doesn't exist).
Good catch! Thanks for pointing that out. The link has been removed after confirming with its author that it hasn't been moved elsewhere.
How do you change the portrait art for an NPC? When I am editing them and I change it, the in-world image remains the same. Thanks, Ryan
If the NPC is synced with a world character article, you will probably have to change the character portrait from the character article editing page. It's right under the seeds text box. Not sure if this is what you're asking, so feel free to ask follow-up questions!
I don't understand the difference between creating NPCs under the Campaign tab and creating characters under the World tab, let alone how to link them. Let's start at the beginning. When I create an NPC under the Campaign section, I assign them a name and an image. After that I go to Articles & Categories and click the edit button for the NPC I just created. In the editing page I click View and that brings up another "in-world" tab in my browser window. From there I click View Character Profile which opens another tab. I now have 3 tabs open for my NPC, the editing one, the in-world one, and the Character Profile. I go back to the editing tab and look at the Character Portrait section under the Generic tab. It's blank, and if I change it to a new image and click save, the in-world image and the image in the Character Profile do not change. I have to delete the original image form the Images & Files Manager for the in-world image to change to the new Character Portrait. After that, the image in the Character Profile goes blank. Sorry for the long winded speech, but I am very confused about the number of ways to create and edit characters.
I see the confusion! Let's clear up the differences first and once you understand them, maybe it will be easier to help you with the image issue. World Anvil is a campaign manager, but it's also a worldbuilding toolset that is not necessarily used for RPGs. The worldbuilding side of WA has several article types (templates) such as settlement, organization, and tradition. One of these templates is the character template, used to talk about characters that are not necessarily part of RPG worlds. Then there's the campaign part. When you create an NPC, you are specifically creating a character for a campaign, so you do so from the campaign interface. However, when you create an NPC, a character article (in the "worldbuilding side") is also created automatically and synced with the NPC (anything in the NPC's extended profile should also appear in the article). This is so that the character can feel more integrated to the world as a whole. Does that make sense? I suggest you read the getting started guide too (you can find it with the search bar on top of this page).
I'm noticing an issue trying to follow the image with a custom url example. Setting the url tag with destination and then image "url=https://www.worldanvil.com/world/image/list - img:82765|nolink - /url" (pretend the braces are there, just wanted to keep it from rendering) When I hit save the article reloads to show "url=https://www.worldanvil.com/world/image/list - https://www.worldanvil.com/world/image/list - /url" with the second destination just being plane text, no bbcode tag Has anyone else seen this? Or am I doing something wrong? Wanted to ask before submitting a bug.
Basically, after saving the img tag is replaced with the destination as plain text, so saving again obviously removes the image from the article.
I tried it in a test world to make sure this hadn't been changed recently, and it works for me. Are you using the WYSIWYG editor? If so, click the ">_" button to switch to the code editor, you can use BBCode tags in there.
Yeah I was editing in source. It works the first time and the page renders fine, but once I go back to edit, the image tag was removed for some reason.
https://www.worldanvil.com/uploads/images/518c121c54333795f31d38660ed82e2a.gif That gif doesn't really do it justice since it condensed it, but trying to show the code with image and then it replaces it with the destination. I have a col tag, then the url tag, then the image tag, close url tag, close col tag
This is most likely a bug with this editor, I used Euclid (the advanced code one) and I don't have this issue. You can report that using the bug tracker, which you can access from the "need help?" link in the site footer (or with this link). You'll need to create a separate account, because it's a third-party service.
Gonna be honest... I didn't even see there were multiple ones. Oops. But yeah, I can submit a ticket for the "Plato" editor.
Is there a way to add a caption under an image in an article?
No, but I use this BBCode code for captions: [center][small][i]CAPTION HERE[/i][/small][/center] Place it under the [ing] tag, although it will only work if the image is in the article sidebar, in a column, or if it takes the full width of the article.
When I insert images into an article, they don't show up. Is there something I am doing incorrectly?
Are you sure you're using the correct BBCode tag? Using the full URL is a frequent error.
Yes, I am using the BBCode tag. I am using Firefox, could that be the problem?
Just figured it out! Turns out, even though I could upload the image, it was too large to insert into an article.
I see! Glad you could figure it out :)
How would I go about adjusting the size of an image to make it smaller for a particular article without editing and uploading a second file?
You can specify the size in pixels as a parameter. For example, [img:82765|left|50] will force the image to be 50px wide. Note that if you include the pixels, you also have to include the alignment (can be right, center, or left).
Thank you! I actually noticed the BBC examples guide on the right of the page right after asking for help, like a dork.
No worries! Happy to help :)
I am not an artist by any stretch, and I often glean inspiration from pinterest as its easiest for me to use on my phone. Unfortunately, Pinterest doesnt always have image credits or the proper linkbacks. Is there a way that I can use a mass disclaimer to make it known that none of the images on my world? Say like, under every image i have a link embedded that takes them to a disclaimer article where I state that I do not own any of the images, etc. My worldbuild is pretty much private and I have zero interest in using it or its images for any kind of purposes other than my personal inspiration references. Or do I have to forgo images altogether?
Hi! Crediting the artist is highly encouraged (and compulsory for challenge entries). As a freeman your articles have to be public, so keep in mind that if the artist sends in a take-down request, Dimitris (the developer) will have to comply. Only the image would be removed though, not the whole article (that's why we don't allow URL image embedding). You can often find the original artist using a google reverse image search. I encourage you try to do it!
Hello there! Thank you for the helpful article. I have a question. When using an artist's work as a cover image, the credits don't appear underneath it. Is there a workaround to this? I've filled out all the appropriate tags and the credits seem to be working just fine when viewing the image by itself, but not as a cover. You can find an example of this (https://www.worldanvil.com/w/arc---tus-acturus-albani/a/the-children-of-glumhaven-article?preview=true) when compared to (https://www.worldanvil.com/i/1394232). Please help! I'd hate to see my articles disqualified due to my ignorance. Many thanks in advanced!
Hi! Not to worry, cover credits appear in the article footer! You can find "Cover image: Dark Pond by Skvor" under the like/follow buttons.
I've been trying to add new crests/logos to new Organization articles I'm making, but I can't find the option anymore. It used to be under the Generic tab, beneath the "motto / slogan / axiom" field, but now I can't find it again. Uploading to Image Gallery works fine, but how do I get that image into the sidebar above the other sidebar data?
Hi! You should find a text field in the top right panel, before the preview and view buttons! Just type the image name and you'll see a list of suggestions -> click the one you want. Tip: you can upload the image using the blue button while editing the article, no need to refresh the page for the image to appear in the suggested ones!
Does anybody know how to embed an image in a Manuscript? I've been trying forever to embed a little decorative line-divider between two scenes, and I can't for the LIFE of me figure out how to do it.
Hi! The Manuscripts text editor doesn't seem to have any native image insertion tool. But I found a way. First, upload the image on World Anvil and get the direct URL to the image (it should end in .png or another extension). Then, go to the manuscript and click Tools then Source code. Find where you want to put the image and add this code: <img src="URL"> (replace URL with the direct URL to the image). Then Save and you should see the image in the editor. I haven't tested if the image is visible when someone else reads the Manuscript though. Hope this helps!
Those instructions were specifically for Manuscripts (a feature not available to free accounts). To embed them on an article, go to the Images section of the world and copy the little button with numbers you'll find at the top of each thumbnail. Then paste that on the article. The "Article Images" section of this guide explains this.
Hello, a good portion of my articles are now cut off at the top. It's not missing the cover art, it's just cut off about halfway down the "Go to Homepage" link. Did I click something on accident? Thanks, Ryan
Hi Ryan! Can you show me an example of this? Preferably a link to an article with this issue. Thanks!
It appears to be fixed today, as I haven't come across a single one that is cut off. If I do, I will post a link next time, thank you.
how do I find the "direct URL of an image" I'm trying to use the CSS editor but I can't find anything labelled with .jpg or .png
Hi! If you right-click an image, there should be an option that says "copy image link" (or similar, depends on browser). This will copy to your clipboard the image's direct link. Hope this helps!
thanks, I actually just found out how to get it and came back to say that but my way was way more complicated than yours ill be using that from now on thanks!
Hello. I am having issues embedding images into my articles. If I try to use the "insert an image" tab, the picture only appears as a tiny symbol on my previews. If I try to use a BBcode, I cannot get the image to float left or right: the image does not appear at all. If I copy and paste the clipboard link, I am unable to select any way to float it left or right. Is this a glitch, or is there something I am doing wrong?
Hi! The three methods work differently, so let's see if I can clear it up for you:
Is it possible to have galleries within galleries? Or should I say sub galleries? I have a great deal of images in my world And it would really help you if I could group them somehow.
Hi! Unfortunately that's not a feature currently. But feel free to suggest it in the feature suggestion board!
Doesn't work. Crests are not saved.
Can you please elaborate on what your issue is?
I figuered it out now... I clicked on "save" after the image was displayed in the crest field. As I thought just entering the number / tag would be enough. But I have to click the Image i want, only that makes the true selection. I found out only after I had more than 2 pictures in the search.
Thank you. Just a quick question - I have an image from a 17th Century unknown artist - I've credited it as Unknown 17th Century artist - is this against the rules for competitions? Not that I'm trying to win anything - other than bronze :)
That should be ok! No worries :)
Can I make sure that the image is NOT wrapped by text when I adjust the width?
There are two ways! The most straightforward one is aligning it to the center. If you don't want to change its alignment, you can use two columns and leave the left (or right) column empty. This is the BBCode to create columns:
[row] [col]IMAGE GOES HERE[/col] [col][/col] [/row]This will force all text to be either before or after the image, not at the side, but it has the drawback that the maximum width of the image can be 50% of the page (excluding the sidebar). If you want the image to be left-aligned instead, move the image in between the second set of "col" tags. Let me know if that makes sense/is useful!
Hi, I’d like to add a key to my calendar article, using the icons from fontawesome as with the calendar entries. But I’m not familiar enough with bbcode to work out how. Fontawesome provide the following html to use the icons <i class="fas fa-crown"></i> - is it possible to use this to embed the icon image? Thanks!
I'm afraid that's not possible with your current Guild level —you'd need a Grandmaster subscription to embed FontAwesome icons. At your level, you can embed map pins as icons, using the [pin:NAME-OF-PIN] syntax, but they're different from FA. For future reference in case you decide to upgrade to Grandmaster later on, this is the syntax to embed FontAwesome icons: [section:fas fa-crown] [/section] (basically using the "section" tags instead of the <i> html tags, but keeping the same class name). I hope this clears things up!
Hiya :) I'm having a problem locating the image gallery option... Does it appear in all types of articles? I want to add a gallery to a species article, but can't find the option in the design tab. Anyone knows if it's possible? Thanks!
Looks like this guide was outdated! The option was moved to Sections -> Footer sections. I'll correct the guide now. Thanks for the heads-up too!
Hi, how do I change the size of the image on a regular Article?
Hi! You can specify the width of the image as an argument in the img tag. However, the size is the second argument, which means that you'll also have to specify the alignment (left, center, or right. left is the default). To make an image 50px wide and keep it in the default alignment, you would use this: [img:123|left|50] Hope this helps, and let me know if you need more help!
No matter how I do it, I cannot get ARTICLE COVER IMAGE (HEADER) to work ever. Please advise. I am becoming aggravated.
Hi! The cover image field works like a search bar. Typing the file name is not enough, you then have to select the file from the list (there might be a single suggestion, but you still have to click it). Let me know if that helps!
Grazie. 謝謝您, merci, thank-you Ondo, I appreciate your assistance. I see the key is for each individual image file to be named in the advanced edit. Once there the system can "see" it to allow its selection. Peace.
Happy to help! If you know the image's ID, the system will also find it with it (but just the number, not the "[img]" part).
I try and upload, its a PNG and less than 10 MB but it just gets to almost complete and sits there. Never gotten it to work despite multiple attempts
Hi! If you're sure it's under 10 MB, it might be a problem with your network connection. Could you try it with another device (and, if possible, with a different network)? If it still doesn't work and you don't think about your connection, you can report it as a bug here.
Hello, how do I force a change of the world background image. I have removed the CSS code and deleted the image from my library and the same background image remains. I redid the CSS code and posted a link for a different image and no luck. I logged out, deleted my history and it is still the same old image. Ant help would be appreciated, thank you.
Hello, I have a 3.8MB PNG image that will not upload. As the limit is 10, is there another reason this might not be working? Thank you, Ryan
Hi! This might be a problem with your internet connection—I just tried uploading a 4 MB image and it worked without issues. Are you able to try it with a different network?
I just emailed it to my phone and uploaded it from there and it worked fine, thanks Ondo.
Thank you for the guide. Would be hugely helpful if, in the image location area, you included where to set these and a better description of that they are. I think I'm more than an hour in on looking for where the heck to set the 'Content tree item image' which I hope is the default tree image at the top of all of my pages.
Hi! The content tree images are the ones you can use in the content trees feature. The image that appears at the top of the article/world homepage (in this page is the golden "WA" logo) is the "article and world cover".
Is there a way to create a subgallery within a gallery for better organization?
That's not possible with the current implementation. You are welcome, however, to suggest it as a feature in the community voting board!
This might be a stupid question, but will the alignments still work if I spelled centre in the British English way, or should I stick to the American spelling?
Only the American spelling will work!
I have couple of enthusiastic players that want to write their own articles and add images to said articles, but how can they access image library that I have created? They don't seem to see it.
They won't be able to see the image library unless you give them Editor permissions (but they would be able to see private content, so I wouldn't recommend that for players!). So you'll have to give them the image IDs so they can use them.
Thanks for the great guide! I have a small issue you might be able to help me with. If not no worries. It might be something on my end, but in case it’s not I’ll ask the question here so it might help someone else. I’ve been trying to get the campaign cover image to show up correctly on the page, but when using the recomended size and aspect ratio it doesn’t fit the whole image correctly and tiles the image, or some of it at least) about half-ish way through the given area for the pic. I’ve messed around with resizing it and found a size that came close, but even though it would have fit it cut off the top 1/5th or so and put it on the bottom for some reason. Any ideas, or is it just me? Thanks in advance for any help you have!
You're right, the recommended size is also tiled for me. Could you report the issue to our bug tracker? Thank you!
Hi, I've been having a problem where I've used some images as backgrounds and such in my CSS, and most of the time it loads fine, but every once in a while sometimes they don't load and I have to go back to the image file manager and open up the image in a new tab myself, and then it'll go back to loading properly in my actual world. I was just wondering if you have any idea what might be causing this, and/or what I could do to stop it from happening.
Hi! Could you paste the full URL of the image you're using in your CSS here?
Here's one of them: https://www.worldanvil.com/media/cache/apollo_preview/uploads/images/fe3ad3cb069ba5a40d3211fce044ce70.png It's happened with others too, but I'm guessing whatever the problem is with this one is the same as with the others.
Yes, you aren't copying the proper URL! Instead of right-clicking the image preview on the image manager, click it to open the image page in a new tab (not the direct URL). Then copy the direct URL to that image. This should do it! But let me know if you need any clarification.
Hello, for the past few months I have been having issues with images not loading. Eventually they do, but sometimes it takes 20-30 times for it to work. Has something changed? I'm on a brand new gaming PC with good connection and I can't upload a 0.1MB pic on the images screen. Maps upload fine and I never had an issue with images until recently.
Image uploading is working fine here, both in the Images section and using the blue quick button. Is the issue still persisting? If so, please report it here: https://github.com/worldanvil/worldanvil-bug-tracker/issues
is there a way to have the artist credit show up on the image when its used as a Heroes character profile picture? currently the credits only show up if you insert the picture in the article
Hi! I don't think this is possible right now. So I recommend adding the credit in the character's profile manually, that should do the trick!
is there a way to deit the size of pictures and move them?
Hi! Yes, you can change the image size and align them on the left, right, or center of the page. Check out the "Image BBCode Examples" section in the sidebar of this article!
The only image I don't see any information about is the use of the [badge] tag to display badges. (For reference, I'm working on the sidebar on this page. And I am just now realizing I'm not sure whether to use bbcode or html in comments...) The sidebar has the silver summer camp badge I won last year on it, using the [badge] tag that was copied and pasted exactly as-is. I was hoping to make it smaller, since I'm hoping to have a number of images there soon! I tried adding a bar and 150, but the badge tag did not display smaller. Please let me know if there's a way to do this, or if I have to go dig up the exact image ID and hover text and do it all manually.
Hi! Comments have full BBCode support (as you've probably seen now). For the badges, the badge tag doesn't have a way to resize—it's not an img tag, so it works differently. Badges don't have an image ID assigned to them because they aren't uploaded to a world, so if you want more control over it, you'll need to download the badge and reupload it to your world.
Thanks, Ondo! I was afraid of that. I guess I can do it that way. I know I can do that; I was just hoping there was something more convenient.
Hallo ich teste das gerade. Finde 10 MB für Bilder doch etwas zu wenig in der heutigen Zeit?!?!
Hi! As a freeman, you get 100 MB of storage space, not 10. Guild members get 2 GB, 5 GB or 10 GB depending on their subscription tier. Let me know if you have any other questions!
How do I use the images that I've added through the Images tab as a handout from the Storyteller screen? At the moment, I seem to have to upload the images again through the Storyteller screen in order for me to be able to pass them out as a handout.
Hi! Yes, that's correct. Currently, the handouts tool can't "see" the images you've uploaded to your world. We are planning to update the campaign manager though, and that will probably be part of it.
Is there a method to mass delete images?
Hi! No, currently there isn't a way to delete multiple images with one click.
Thanks for the answer, do you know if there's some kind of "backdoor" I can use to access the path of the images and delete them from there? I started un manual cleanup, but there's 4 gigs of pictures for me to delete. I can't see the end of it. lol
If you know how to code, you could write a script with the API (documentation here). Other than this, there isn't another workaround, although you can always suggest this as a feature.
Nice, thank you! I'm not a dev myself but know some people that might be able to help me out. I'll think about the feature suggestion. Have a nice day!
In the category images it says: DEFAULT ARTICLE CATEGORY COVER: This image is used in all articles which are directly under this category and their sub-articles. It is not inherited to subcategories.“. However for mine it does the articles but not the sub articles (articles under articles). The help in the discord chat said it does not do the sub article. Not sure if this needs to be corrected or if I have broken something.
It seems that child articles aren't affected by the category settings. You can suggest this as a feature enhancement here: https://www.worldanvil.com/community/voting/
I'm not sure I understand the follow-up question, could you clarify?
Shouldn't we remove "and their sub-articles" since they actually do not inherit from "This image is used in all articles which are directly under this category".
Good point! Thanks.
Is there an ability to make like a showcase? Where images are not being used in an article yet, but they are in the file manager. I'm using myself as an example here, I have a lot of self made images, I'd like people to see them, but don't have anywhere to put them relevant yet. A dedicated art article, not attached to anything?
Hi! You can share the direct link to the image page, but that's for individual images. You could put all of them in an article or, if you want more control over the layout, you could use Whiteboards too.
Thank you! I'll have to give the whiteboard trick a try

Has anyone else had trouble adding a link URL to an image? I've been trying to link a character photo to their character page but when I click on the image it just sends it to the default display image page. I'm copying and pasting the link of the character page into the URL section but it doesn't seem to do anything. Thoughts?
Hi! Use BBCode like this: [url:LINK HERE][img:123|nolink][/url] Notice the "nolink" parameter in the image—this disables the image's default link to let the URL affect it. Hope this helps!
so I discovered you can link an article from an image, without using the url: tag
