Ilvaron

placeholder
The Ilvaron is the the formal title granted to the firstborn male heir of a Dral’azie Great House, while not matriarchal heirs like the Itharinn, an Ilvaron still bears a unique station within Dral'azie society. While traditionally viewed as ceremonial, the Ilvaron’s political weight within the city-states of the Dral’azie Imperium should never be underestimated; a born representative of a Great House, his very presence commands gravity and affords him unique influence and leverage. Though not a ruler in name, an Ilvaron is not an idle position; he is a figure meticulously shaped for courtly and political theater, an embodiment of allure, martial bearing, high learning and prestige. Where the Itharinn commands, the Ilvaron is expected to enthral, negotiate and marshal, serving not only as an extension of an Ithecess's will, but as a living testament to her House’s authority. His words may not carry the final decree, but they carry its weight of his matron's intent. Whether preceded over trade accords, commanding the house's armies during conflict or deployed as emissary to fractious courts     Though an Ilvaron is prized for their blood, their lives are often marked by constraint and frustration. Forbidden from entering unions of passion without sanction, many are kept in gilded stagnancy, waiting for a match that may never come.   An Ilvaron betrothed into lesser or vassal houses often find themselves in an odd state of semi-autonomy. Though their bodies lie in another matron’s domain, their blood, titles, and inheritance remain tied to their mother’s House.     Vael’varon – informal or ironic usage, typically when the Ilvaron is disgraced or exiled.
Varassyr - Used for an Ilvaron who has been disinherited and cast out utterly from their lineage, severing all titles, inheritance and even the house name.
