History
Switzerland began forming in 1291 under the name Confederation of Helvetica. In 1648, It gained independence from the Holy Roman Empire. Between 1798 and 1803 It was renamed the Helvetic Republic and allied with France during the Napoleonic wars. In 1813, Switzerland gained independence, although the modern government was not established until 1848. Switzerland had remained neutral in all global affairs for the 452 years since then.
Foreign Relations
Switzerland maintains a policy of neutrality and has no relations to any other government bodies.
