Berlin

The earliest records of Berlin date back to the 13th century, as a small village. it wouldn't be until the 17th century that the town gained any recognition. But by 1871, when it became the Capitol of Germany, it was one of the largest cities in the country. By 1945, the population had hit 4 Million people. But after Germany's defeat in the second world war, this number dwindled, only reaching the same level in the 2030s. The city was divided between Eastern and Western German governments from 1945 until 1990. since then, it has been the almost unrivaled economic center of Europe. In 2117, it was conquered by the Terran Empire, causing the population to once again dip. Under the People's Terran Imperium, the city stagnated and fell into disrepair. However, It was largely reconstructed in the following decades, and is now once again a pride of the European continent.
