Elemental Mark

2-level Enchantment

Casting Time 1 action
Range Touch
Duration 1 minute
Components V, S, M
Materials Any medium that can leave a mark, such as chalk

When you touch a creature, you do a few simple marks across their body, choosing either Air, Earth, Fire, or Water. At the beginning of that creature's turn, it must make a successful Constitution Savings throw or suffer the immediate effects of the mark as described below. After 3 successful saves the mark dissipates and they no longer experience any effects from the mark. Regardless, the same creature cannot have another mark placed on them for 24 hours.   Air - On a failed save, the target takes 1d12 lightning damage. After the first failed save, the target has wind gusting around them, after the second, the wind increases, doubling their movement cost, after the third failed save, a tornado springs from them, flinging their body 1d10 x 10 feet into the air and 1d10 x 10 feet in a random direction, suffering bludgeoning damage from the fall and if they hit a barrier.   Earth - On a failed save, the target suffers 2d6 piercing damage. After the first failed save, they experience pain prickling in their body, after the second failed save, they become partially petrified, losing their bonus action and reaction, after the third failed save, they become petrified for the remaining duration of the spell.   Fire - On a failed save, the target suffers 3d6 fire damage. After the first failed save, smoke billows from their mark. On the second failed save, it glows with pain, giving them disadvantage on all attacks. On the third failed savings throw, the mark explodes from them, causing 3d6 fire damage to all targets within 15 feet of the mark and an additional 3d6 damage to the character with the mark.   Water - On a failed save, the target takes 4d4 cold damage. On a second failed save, they begin shivering and frosting over, suffering disadvantage on all ranged attacks and Dexterity savings throw. On a third failed savings throw, they experience freezing through most of their body, experiencing effects like the spell Slow, without the Wisdom saves, for the duration of the spell.
