Special Maneuvers
Lunging Thrust - Step forward 5 feet to make an attack against an opponent within 10 feet of you and return to where you were standing without using movement or provoking opportunity attacks. This maneuver can be performed once per turn.
Parry - When an opponent attempts to attack you in Melee range, you may attempt to intercept the attack and use your Reaction. Make an attack roll against the target, if your attack roll beats theirs, you parry the attack and deflect the blow, taking no damage.
Piercing Strike - Make an attack with the tip of the blade for 1d8 AP IV Piercing damage.
Pommel Strike - Make an attack with the pommel at the base of the hilt for 1d4 AP III Bludgeoning damage. If successful, the target cannot take reactions until the start of your next turn.
Riposte - Immediately after a successful parry, make a melee attack against your attacker.
Sweeping Attack - As an attack while the weapon is held in both hands, make a sweeping attack with the blade, dealing 1d8 AP I Slashing Damage to up to three adjacent targets within 5 feet of you. Each target must make a Dexterity saving throw against a DC equal to 8 + Your Proficiency Bonus + Your Strength Modifier or take damage. Once you have used this maneuver, you must wait until after the end of your next turn before you can use it again.

Le Verdoyant refer to this weapon's design as épée bâtarde, with some speculation that it is referring to a longsword of unknown origin. Other sources claim it is the bastard child of a greatsword and a longsword. Most were designed to be used in thrusting attacks, but the weapon also has two cutting edges, while boasting a crossguard for defense. Post-Cataclysm, it is strange to see such a weapon employed by anyone, but fighting in melee has gained popularity as ammunition has dwindled. It is distinct from the claymore, which is an Eadwellian design with a rounded tip and a forward-angled crossguard whereas the épée bâtarde boasts a pointed tip.
