Lady Sinclair's manor.

by Trinielios Tertian'Duskvale

Naz and I waited in line for while for this new job the town criers have been talking about. The guards let us in right before the rain started. The food was finer fare than I had maybe ever eaten. The company on the side of the table Naz and I sat at was good, but the other end of the table hosted some difficult personalities.

Thankfully Naz took the lead on introductions. Next to us was Iliria, a Leshy, and Scarlet, a catfolk. I had never seen people like these in my time on the surface, but they are both kind and I found them charming. We also met Eurydice and Grog. Eurydice is an elf who also looks like she knows her way around the wilderness. Grog the goblin seems the strong silent type, he did not speak much, but I get the feeling he listens to more than he lets on.

The others we met at our table were also varied. The most easily recognized is Sandra Ridgeborn, a massive woman with a massive personality. She would be a good ally in the Reach, and a terrible foe. Beau is an earnest and honest man. He upholds justice for its own sake, I have never met someone like him, but his understanding of tactics and how the reach would need to be supplied were excellent. Ezekial is a war hero from the Astoria civil war, I understand the need to leave this place after such fighting, though not to such a degree that he does. Jasper Cottonwood was a charming person, with plenty of stories to share, and just as much interest in learning more. On the other hand Dagna, the Doomsayer, was troublesome to talk to. I was hoping for any news from the dwarves but she was more focused on her visions of the end of days. Lady Seraphina was ambitious. That is about all I think about that. I am confused by her journeying into the wilderness with no skills of her own past her ability to hire guides, truly I hope for her safety, may it be far from my own safety. Thalara is a half orc who claims to be descended from the original inhabitants of the Reach. I am not sure how someone could confidently claim that, but it is her business more than mine.

I do not trust these nobles. This feast they threw, the rooms they provided us, the gold they claim to be rewarding us with, and now Lady Sinclair says that Astoria will back any of our claims to the Reach? I worry about the legitamacy of any of this, it seems to good to be true, which I belive means it cannot be true. But Nazria is excited for this, and a place to live that is my own is a worthy motivation. We will see what tomorrow brings. At the very least I will not have to camp in the rain, though I do not understand how these nobles sleep on beds this soft, I feel as if I will fall through it.
