Im in the City of Praag. Talk about timing. I cannot leave because an army is outside the walls about to invade. Roaming the city, looking for some way to get out before the invasion, and I see a group of 4 individuals. A Human, a Drow (Freya) an Aasimir (Kemurial) and a Dragonborne (Rory).
The Human is just raging at the others who look, well, dismissive, at his venting. His face is filled with anger. He is pointing his finger and waving is angrily about poor leadership, lack of strategy in battle, claiming the Drow continues to save their asses time and again. That cannot be good when a Drow is your savior! They're all decked out pretty well. I am not sure if they're adornment is from being together, or were they successful before getting together.
He claims to have quit the assignment and is returning to "The Iron" to report how bad the Aasimir is leading, and the constant risk taking of the dragonborne that continues to put the whole party in danger.
I've heard of the Iron. They believe themselves to be a keeper of balance in the realms. Not sure how I feel about an organization that takes on such a responsibility. Sounds more like politics to me. However, these 4 all seem to be impressive in ability. I wonder how the loss of the human affects the balance of the group?
They may be the key to getting out of here. I decide to approach and attempt to exploit this dissolution to my advantage.
"Hello!? You seem to be down a party member, may I join? I am what you might call a problem solver. I am Calanthia Stonetrodden. "
The Dreagonborne is unusually distrusting. I like that. Although, why didn't he employ that with the human before they started adventuring together. The Drow was silent. Not surprising. I don't trust Drow, they're a nasty backstabbing evil race. But I need out of here and this is the only opportunity that has presented itself, and that army outside the city is banging on the doors.
The Aasimir seems like he is on an even keel. In our discussion, his questions we not accusational in nature. He seemed emotionally balanced. Not sure why the human thought he was a poor leader?
I've spent my life taking risks, and this seems no more risky then any other I have taken. Who knows, maybe there will be some profit in this and hopefully, the beginning of cleaning my ledger......
