Epiphany 14: Glorifiication
We had found what could be the mid-deck control room of Destroyer's ship. The sirens, or alarms, were still going off, flooding the air with noise. Cargo crates are stacked beyond the mid-deck control room.
There are portholes in the bulkheads with metal tubing around those, to allow viewing into the 'control room' that are a yellow-green illuminated area with columns between us and what might be controls... a circular area? Not sure.
I send Psyher off to hack the security system, Makeshift to find and take control of the engines and power. To help translate, I sent
Gaius Montkahnawake and
Merko Merkovich along with them. Sable Shadow and I go check our back trail to see if there are guards coming. If no, one of us then will go check the hole in the floor, or the door on the far side.
It turns out, Psypher discovered the security tech is LexCorp tech. Destroyer has likely been swiping tech from our Earth. I suggested to look for a backdoor, some hidden access that Luthor would have installed in any tech his company created.
No one was coming behind us, so I asked her to stay and keep watch while I went to check the hole in the floor, then the far side of the room. The hole goes through the ship, allowing a view outside. I do see another "Makeshift" down on the ground firing... so hologram? Clone? Not sure.
I leave that and head on to check the opposite side of the room. Finding a door, I head down and discover another group of guards planning their attack. I toss a smoke pellet past them, then another into the middle of them. Once they are rattled, I toss a stun bomb ahead and to the left. All to rattle them.
One accidentally launches himself in his flight pack, then sails down, lands with a concussion and a sprained ankle. He see me, so I cloud his mind so he sees me put a finger to my lips and melt into smoke. Then I retreat, while the guard is screaming. His companions return, and help him get his pack on.
So I grapple gun the wounded guard, yanking him off into the darkness and fog while the other guards are watching. This rattles the guards more, who break off into teams of two, and attack up. They seem to be expecting an attack from above, so they go after imagined attackers on top of the crates in the room. I mesmerize the guard I kidnapped so he'll rest ( to take care of his concussion and sprained ankle ) and stay out of the way.
I follow them for a bit to make sure they are occupied chasing shadows in the room and not moving in to bother my allies. Finally, I move back to the door and stay hidden, waiting to ambush the guards if they head to the door to try and go after my allies.
A noise gets my attention after the ship shakes around us. So I race back to the main room. The others are gone, and the ship is heading for a water landing. So, I close the floor opening to keep this deck from hopefully flooding. By the time I get that closed, Makeshift teleports back in, saying Sable Shadow is still up here. He gets to work on disconnecting the engineering console, while I hurry off to find Sable Shadow and bring her back so we can leave.
I look but don't find her anywhere. No idea where she went, but I suspect she's been taken. Possibly by Destroyer's people.
Once Makeshift teleport us back, I explain to Psypher ( assuming Kitsune is nearby ) that Sable Shadow was captured and taken off to the south. Psypher adds Peitro is missing as well and people are wanting him back.
