Orin Murphy, is an ex military operative trying to acclimate to civilian life.

Orin gre up in a broken home. His father was a drunk afflicted with PTSD in atime when it was not readily recognized. His father got drunk one night and killed Orin's mom. Orin stabbed his father trying to protect his mom. He was seven. He was then put into the foster system and his father went to jail. Orin bounced from foster home to foster home. His father died of lover failure in jail.
 
Orin was destined for life on the streets until the system put him in the Dunn home. Mr. Dunn was an ex Master Chief and with a gentle hand was able to instill a sense of discipine in Orin without pushing him away. They became very close. When Orin was about to graduate high school Mr. Dunn passed suddenly. Feeling kind of lost he felt compelled to help take care of Mrs. Dunn to pay her back for her kindness and to honor Mr. Dunn's memory.
 
Orin joined the military and sent half his check to Mrs. Dunn every month until she passed. But Orin found a comradarie and sense of family int he military he never had anywhere else. He applied to special ops and was accepted and made it through training.
 
He operated missions all over making contacts with other agencies, militaries, and police forces. He was finally happy.
 
Then on a mission, his entire team was killed, and Orin was the only survivor. He doesn't remember much about the encounter (which the doctors chalked up to amnesia form his head wound) but Orin knew something odd happened. Something not normal. The investigation cleared him of any wrong doing but there was still a seeming air of suspicion and he found himself riding a desk. No team wanted him. He was bad luck. Soon he found himself not even fighting the medical discharge when it was handed to him.
 
Now he is in the civillian sector. He's looking. For answers to what happened to him and his team, looking for his place in the world, and for a new family to replace the one he lost.
