Ourania is the devilish, aaracokra captain of the Saffron Sun, a merchant airship. From her days as a sky pirate and her days in the Resistance, she is not afraid to do less than legal stuff on the side if it benefits her.

Appearance
Body Features
Ourania's body is like a humanoid owl, with great wide wings from her shoulders that act like a cloak when not in use. Most of her body is covered in soft downy feathers of dark brown and black. Her face is round and framed like an owl, capable of catching sound from a great distance. Her hands and feet are clawed like that of a bird-of-prey, and there's a fierce focus in her eyes that is rarely broken or shaken.

Personal history
Ourania grew up in the Aaracokra city of Lyros. Out on the plains and in the forests, there are large numbers of owl aaracokra, of whom Ourania is one of them. After she reached the age of 5 - Aaracokra mature very quickly at the age of 3 - she fell in with a crew of sky pirates.
Sky piracy is a very lucrative business venture. Chartering airships is expensive, even for short trips, which means only valuable cargo is sent by airship so that there will still be profits after the expenses. Ourania and her crew of sky pirates didn't have an airship of their own, so they camped on the sides of mountains where airships had to fly closer to land. Ourania proved herself time and again by flying up to the airship and forcing the ship to land for the other pirates to take the cargo. Afterwards, they let the ship travel away.
During the Tenfold War, sky piracy was a valuable asset for both sides hoping for an edge. By this time, Ourania had become a captain of her own with four aaracokra serving under her along with the rest of the crew. They attacked a Nor'Vagan airship that was captained by Wulfric, a Goliath barbarian serving in the Nor'Vagan military. Wulfric and Ourania fought to a draw, but Ourania's crew ultimately won the day. The two decided to team up and take on a bigger prize: an Aurelian airship powered by a magical device called a Flight Wheel.
Before elemental engines, conjurers and transmuters in the Aurelian university had developed the Flight Wheel, which looks like a giant water wheel inscribed with magical runes all along the sides and the spokes. When spun, it emitted a powerful levitation spell on the airship, along with great gusts of wind into the sails. Flight Wheel airships were fast and maneuverable, faster than anything in the Nor'Vagan air fleet. Wulfric and Ourania took their airship and mounted an ambush of a small Aurelian airship on the outskirts of a great battle with Nor'Vagu, and together, they successfully captured it.
After the war, Ourania was captain of her own airship, which they had named the Amber Sun, and Wulfric was first mate. They decided to run their own merchant business because their airship could move valuable cargo quickly from city to city. But they were never afraid to do some illegal activities on the side to balance the books. After they met Squad Chi in Tritenea, they decided to join the Resistance. Some months later, they were called to help at the Battle of Eadra. During the battle, the orcs brought airships that threatened to breach the wall. Ourania flew her airship, into the plummeting airship, but it was too much of a match, and the Amber Sun was destroyed. But Ourania and Wulfric survived, and when the Resistance was successful, Sibeel al-Haiya gifted her one of the military's airships, an impressive cruiser with four Flight Wheels and capable of holding twenty times more cargo than the Amber Sun. Ourania and Wulfric named the new airship the Saffron Sun, and they continued their merchant ventures, and they are fast friends to this day.
