Diokrates Benthagoras Decarton is an elderly philosopher of 84. Curly horns pointing backwards adorns his old wrinkly head. A crooked back from bending over dusty books causes a lot of trouble in his daily life.
At an early age he put the outside world aside, to dive into the world of books and literature. Within months he had read every epic tale of heroes and villains in all of Theros, within a year he had read every book in the measly library of Akros. His peers looked down on him in the city, where strength and agility were in high regard. He had to move on. At age 13 he moved from Akros and sought apprenticeship at the great library of Glossion. Here he had access to more books than he could read in a lifetime, and within a decade he was the youngest resident philosopher in the history of this ancient library.

In his high tower he would spend all day, everyday thinking about the world, what is wrong/right, and about existence itself.
 
He has many collaborators around the world, but mostly rely on collaborations with the antiquity trust and the bureau of mysteries.
 
His latest endeavor took him to explore a hidden mystery. Usually, he wouldn't leave his cozy study, but an ancient text told him that this place would contain immense knowledge beyond that of any mortal. This was too much to resist.
He called in a favor from his collaborators at the bureau of mysteries, and accompanied by 7 of their explorers he traveled to the hidden tempel.
The trials of the temple proved deadly, and only he and one of his companions managed to enter the inner temple.
There was no gold, no gems, and even no books. However there was a sphinx.
