Took a liking to Ebony after seeing her perform magic for tips at the Yawning Portal, and convinced Durnan to allow for her to entertain in exchange for food and shelter.  
 
Loves to cook, but is in extreme debt after owing her old boss over 1000gp in damages after their old restaurant burned down. (It was not in fact Jess's fault, a patron dropped a cigar in a dry bush and FWOOM!, but Jess got blamed as she was in charge of stoves and fire)
