The Andu species is the most apparent of all Lumankind. They are what one things of when they think of "a luman". The epitome of Ana's creational spirit, manifests in the form of an animal, plant, or fungus. For easy of language and culture differences they are given ethnic names to differentiate themselves. The animal body of a luman spirit is called Andu and can be done for any animal or some beasts. Monstrosities may be the result of failed attempts at luman life transitions gone terribly wrong. All luman forms have a star-shaped "human shape" that transitions the body naturally into an animal/human form that retains several traits and skills from its natural suit.
The Andu culture is as varied as the number of animals in the world. This is highly up to the interpretation of the players of the world. Liren are Andus that have adapted so well to the feline incarnation potential that they are evolving into their own species. The same is true for Muran, who were mere fish and then merfolk and now are actually a society of peoples who call themselves Muran. This is true too of the Etrui, who have superior intelligence and customs of magic all their own, specific to Eturi peoples.
If you choose to be a "Minatuar" in Manam, you could easily choose to identify as a lumin as the means by which you have come to exist. In these cases you would gain the trait "Lumin Ancestry" simplified without the class list of traits to choose from as Andus do which gives the ability to define the animal form you are embodied as.
In truth to identify as a Luman or Andu is minute in mechanical means and is more of a cultural flavor one can choose between.
The same is true for the plant Endu or fungal/ooze Inki. Subtle differences are described in the handbook but do not have to be strictly followed. A dryad could be fey or enku. An ooze or plant character should be created as an Andu.
Awakening
Andus are a varient of Luman that can experience "awakening" which leds to further integration and understanding of magic, spirits, and powers in the world around them.
