Leonardo di Pietro was born as the only child to Paola di Pietro, one of Iashela’s biggest toymaking moguls, and an unnamed human man. Three years after Leo was born, Paola divorced the man and remarried to her current wife, Alessandra, a native to the tribes of Iashela. The union of Paola and Alessandra added two more children to the Di Pietro family.

Leo grew up very loved as the eldest son and heir of the Di Pietro Merchant Company. Alessandra loved him like she loved her own children and Paola taught Leo all sorts of useful skills such as woodcarving, hand-sewing, and metalworking. He quickly mastered all forms of craft that his mother taught him. Eventually, Leo learned how to infuse his toys with practical magic. This impressed his mother so much that she decided to pay for his education at the Akaris Military Academy in full; she thought his talents in magic and toymaking could not go to waste, and attending the academy provides opportunities for the Di Pietro Merchant Company to expand into the Urinian Mainland.

However, there is one small issue. Leo dedicated himself so much to his craft that he didn't socialize much growing up. He is quite rude and incompetent at making friends because of this.
