Summary

Keenor is the dedicated animal companion of Zinzrya Faer. He first encountered the ranger and the rest of the party on Ogab, where there was a community of these birds. Two of the birds continued with the party to Waterdeep, though the second bird chose to stay in Lurra's domain after Zin traveled there in the middle of Navara in 3479 PA. Keenor chose to remain with Zin and the party, and Oghma informed his Chosen that this was likely because Keenor has the same genetic mutations she does, meaning the bird is more suited to planar travel, and therefore Keenor felt a kinship with Zin.

Observed Powers

On several occasions, Keenor has multiplied into a significant number of copies of himself. There is no indication that there is a limit, and the bird seems to be able to achieve this at will.

Keenor has used significant psychic damage abilities to defend himself and Zin, when necessary.

The bird can repeat a vast array of phrases it has heard, allowing limited communication ability.

Keenor does not seem affected by the strain of planar travel or force magic barriers that Zin is able to pass through freely.

Appearance

Upon first glance, Keenor is a strange mixture of beguilingly colorful feathers and an ugly visage. It is thought that part of the curse these birds received is the deformation of their features (in addition to being relegated to only mimicry). Keenor was blessed by Lurra with sparkling golden feathers throughout his plumage, which he wears proudly.

The bird typically is the size of a parakeet and sits on Zin's shoulder or pack when awake, but he has demonstrated an ability to increase his size at least fourfold, when needed.
