Personal history

After leaving his home vault, Kazbat, he began to see his fellow vaulters as especially closed minded and anachronistic, often times indistinguishable from the artifacts they attempt aimlessly to breathe life into. He made his way to the capital of Ephox and trained his magical aptitude for 9 years as a charlatans assistant, before Bekker (The Charlatan) decided it was time for Jad to move on and left the city, giving Jad instructions to join the Academy of Stars in his absence, and when he eventually gets bored of a scholars life to join his old mercenary company, the Scriveners Sect. After 5 years of education, he did end up joining the Scriveners Sect for 6 months before returning to Ephox, eventually leaving to join a second company with a good friend and trusted scholar, Tesha

Education

Jad spent 5 years as a scholar amongst the mages of the Academy of Stars. He met many talented and strange characters within its walls but eventually found the dust of the hallowed halls of academia too similar to the dust back home.

On a mission with Kuiriken, he allowed his prejudice of Vaulters to slow his reaction time and caused his countryman to suffer a grave wound before eliminating a large spider that had been hounding them

Morality is a really wonderful idea but the only reason some may remain morally upright citizens is because of the few citizens willing to do what needs to be done to keep society running. Ideally, we would all be peace loving pacifists, but in reality, the world is run by powerful pragmatists"

To discover unknown technologies and knowledge across the globe, in the hopes of discovering how the Old Technology left to his people works. Freeing them from an eternity of aimless tinkering is the only thing getting him out of bed sometimes

Savvies & Ineptitudes

Jad has learned from Bekker that you must be particularly adept at manipulating people to get what you want from them, so in theory, Jad is extremely good at this after 9 years of practice. In execution, however, Jad sometimes forgets the manipulations altogether and uses his influence to learn more about his supposed targets. For all his bluster about pragmatism, he sometimes loses sight of the goal when a target is right in front of them, especially if they are particularly attractive with a well groomed beard.

Likes & Dislikes

Jad loves people and the endless creativity of invention afforded by the mortal races of the world, and hates the creativity of oppression created by unjust systems and aimless struggles against them

Hygiene

Great. Thrice daily he applies a homemade mousse to his hair to retain a crisp nature while maintaining his beard with a unique salve made from cocoa powder to soften it. It goes without saying that he always makes sure to shower or bathe somehow before worship at dawn and dusk.
