Appearance

Physical Description

Very tall for her species but she does not know it and she is smaller than most in her family of Firbolg and Goliath.
She's thin and lanky, often hunched over unless chided into standing straighter.

Body Features

Very striking features, she's of course very unique in Eshana.
Her skin is the colour of smoky quartz and feels like leather.
Brightly purple (amethyst) and golden yellow (citrine) gemstones protrudes in several places on her body: around the head, on top of the shoulders, the elbows and knees, back of the hands and feet.

Facial Features

Aside from the striking purple-yellow gemstones protruding out of her dragonborn skull, she has a strong jaw and deep slanted eyes which shine with all of the colours of the rainbow, like the irridescent colours of the ammolite gemstone.

The gemstones can be broken but they slowly grow overtime.

Physical quirks

She walks hunched over, and her hands tend to grab whatever's in the vicinity to fiddle with it when she's lost in thought.
Also her emotions can be read like an open book - a surprising feat considering she's the only one of her species in the area.

Kallik means Lightning
A young woman confident in herself and her abilities
Come from the mining village of K'eyush in the Shadow Waste
Her Nahil is Ahnmuyak (Nala's Nahil) = means Steadfast or Brave.
Her egg was found in the mines, abandoned for who knows how long.
She has been destined to become a cobbler
But she wanted to LEARN and ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE.
She wanted to join the Illiivat and Hiin Academies (astronomy and science learning center in Ikiaq) but her school did not deemed her good enough.
She doesn't really want to reject her Nahil or to become a wayward, but she believes the world has much more to offer to her than what she's being promised, and that she can become much more. So she sets out, alone, to leave Eshana...
 
Because of her species, she matured way faster than other children.
At age 3 she had the intelligence of an 8 year old child and went to school (normally starting at 8 years old). School lasts from 8 to 14. Coming of age at 15.
She did the curriculum in 4 years instead of 6, because she technically became an adult much sooner than everyone else (7 years old). Also she worked really hard.
She left school at 7 years old, an adult.
She works the next 4 years as a cobbler.
She leaves the village at 11 years old.

Made an enemy of an adventurer, a human ranger: I’m to blame for it. They are a famous person somehow.
The ranger had left her clockwork servant in the village and it got stuck. I tried to repair it but I was flabbergasted by the level of intelligence of that creature and tried to get it to rebel. Obviously it did not go well.
The ranger was named Lila Atwater and the creature Phineas.

Employment

Cobbler
 
Working as a cobbler, she has always had curiosity for all kinds of craftmanship, tinkering with every object she could put her hands on.
It was a sort of side gig - she did it as a child to craft toys for her and others, and as she grew up, she even traded some of the items she tinkered with and was known as very good at repairing things.
She likes to tinker with things in the mammoth barn - plenty of space there

Accomplishments & Achievements

She is a decent cobbler but the village people respect her more for her ability to repair pretty much any object.

Failures & Embarrassments

Her biggest failure was to be rejected from the Academy because she wasn't good enough in astronomy.

Intellectual Characteristics

Excellent engineering skills but not a lot of appetite for sitting behind a desk and listening to a lecture for hours.
She did not perform well in astronomy; she doesn't care much for looking up at the stars, instead she'd spend hours hunched over her workbench.

Morality & Philosophy

Like a true Yakonian she believes that everyone has a place in the community. However being rejected by the Academy was an event that transformed her vision of the world. She never even imagined she would not go to the Academy. Being kicked out without even being given a chance to prove herself, and without any recourse, has made her reconsider her place within this world. Since she firmly believes in her own worth and abilities, the only explanation is that the Academy made a mistake in rejecting her, and she will have to prove them, to prove everyone, what she is capable of.

Motivation

She's heard that the Spire is the place were the most brilliant minds of the Continent are trained, so she intends to go there to perfect her knowledge, even though she doesn't really know where it's located yet. She'll find, and she'll prove to everyone that she does not need the Academy to become who she's meant to become.

She dismantles objects for fun and tries to put them back together or to create something new and better.
Years ago, she even tinkered with the travium crystal powering the farm during one of the numerous power cuts. The engineers were busy elsewhere so just went to work on it herself, to avoid the crops freezing.
