Iskyn was raised by the Eirjionek of the Mara Derugwaine. Her parentage is unknown and being a half-elf marked her as an outsider. (She thought she was the only one before her tumble into Kneld.) She was never mistreated, but it was made very clear that she would never be worth as much as her Clanmates. She left the Clans as a younger teen after witnessing an Unforgivable Crime.
 
Even so, she still honours the ways she knows best: deep reverence for life in all its forms (especially music) as it flows from the Green Rill; nodding respect to the Huntress (this would change quickly in the Kneld adherence to the loose code of conduct: Try not to cheat, lie, or steal. Don’t break a deal. Always pay for what you use, or bring a gift in gratitude. Defer to your Leader (or be prepared to challenge that right). Protect your Clan. Protect your Home.
 
She spent the past decade or so living a wild and mostly lonely life, trading with a variety of Forest races and sharpening her abilities. Her social skills suffered, but she tries. Her hair trigger can make that difficult, requiring her to focus, either by hunting or drawing, the two things that make her happiest. Her only consistent contacts were Filaethric Berringston and Hronoman. The first taught her music and language; the latter about cities and books and magic and other complicated things. Despite that, she still fears settlements and has a strong distrust of “learned folk”, whether they are mystics or mages.
 
A tragic encounter with the Fox led her to the Kneld. Since arriving, she has met and then killed a tree-friend Gloamtramp; been touched by the Huntress and brought into the Veyddiwr, first by Trombra then by Llodszio; gained a follower in Braaap after saving his life; nearly fell to madness; fought beasties in her own mindscape; watched way too many companions die in horrible ways.
 
Now that she has her mind back, she would like to keep future body counts down.
