Gitslapper was born at the western edge of the Central Massif. His family belonged to the ruling elite of his Goblin tribe and within two to three years was known for beating up the other young in the tribe. They had to travel around the region due to the constant attacks by enemy creatures the Goblins had fought against for generations.

Over time Gitslapper soon proved smart enough to hide, but not smart enough to avoid being captured along with tribal members by the de Rais. Those that couldn't work due to being too young, elderly or infirm were put to the sword and those healthy enough were enslaved. From this point on, he has had a hatred of the de Rais.

Forced to mine since he was 19 years old, it is something he knows only too well. Dreaming of escaping for roughly 20 years, he dreamed of rising up and leading his people to a better future. Taking in all he could learn about the mining business he started to formulate his plan. Hearing of a small band of other Goblins who had escaped, he offered them his leadership causing minor problems in the mines of the de Rais, they were ready to pounce and break out a number of slaves in three different mines when the word was sent.

Strangely, fate had other ideas. The mine he was in was infiltrated by a group of adventurers after encountering the freed slaves. The free Goblins had mentioned that the de Rais were using Goblins as mining slaves, and since one belonged to the town of Eschbach, they decided to check it out. With Eschbach on the border and the thought of any sentient creature being enslaved, the group had got these Goblins to show them secret tunnels into the mine.

They arrived and caused chaos for the de Rais freeing a number of slaves. Gitslapper was one of them, and helped his fellow slaves to escape. They quickly raided the mining camp for supplies and fled to where the others were camping. Seeing his chance, Gitslapper seized control and started to organise them into a sustainable village. Initially calling it Goblintown it has recently been renamed Gitzburg.

Gitslapper recognised that his people needed to grow in number and not be disturbed. He also recognised that they had skills from when they were enslaved that could be exploited for the village. Getting the building of the village done first, he organised weapon, lumber and mining training setting up these as the main priorities, and then contacted the newly instated Lord of Eschbach, Grimmaz Fyrwin. Showing up in person, he hammered out a deal with him to take in Goblintown as part of his lands and act as a buffer against the Central Massif. Trade would be established with the village being recognised as part of the greater Frankish Empire. In return they'd obey the general laws of the Empire along with working closely with the tax collectors & local military structures. Mutual protection was set up and trade established.

The only exception was that Gitslapper wanted was for them to turn a blind eye to the raiding of de Rais caravans & travellers. This would weaken the powerful family however slightly, and any loot could be diverted to both Goblintown and Eschbach who had their own hatred of the de Rais.

So far Gitslapper has been to Aachen to deal with the general overlay of these plans, and willing for his people & him to fight in the ongoing Saxon Wars. Also, any escaped or wandering Goblins will be directed to Goblintown, and brought under his control, and oversight from Eschbach.

Now he sits at the head of Goblintown, watching with satisfaction that there is a beacon of hope for Goblin kind.
