Sprout is a young halfling from the rural village of Henview. She is a cleric of Cyrrollalee who, alongside her brother, Sprig, served in the Henview guard before setting out on a grand adventure together.
Sprout grew up in a small rural farming village named Henview, located in the wilds outside of Baulder's Gate, to which they supplied vegetables and animal products, right on the River Chionthar. She has three siblings; her "twin" brother, Sprig, and her two younger sisters, Maple and Plum. Her mother, Fern Honeyfoot, has kept Sprout and Sprig's father a mystery to her. Sprig is so devoted to their relationship as twins, however, that Sprout just doesn't have the heart to bring it up with him around.
Plum and Maple were originally born to another farming family, but when their village was attacked by Gnolls, their parents were slain. Fern adopted the two halfling babies and has cared for many other halflings in the village who need homes throughout the years. Sprout and Sprig took their big brother/sister duties very seriously and protected Plum and Maple like a second set of parents. Fern is known as the town's healer, her druidic powers lending themselves naturally to the title.
Being the local apothecary put food on the table, but the Honeyfoots never were living a life of luxury. Sprout didn't mind, though, and spent her childhood running wild through the nearby forests and playing in the muddy riverbanks. In her late teens, she found an injured feral kitten that needed help; though it cost her a scar on her face, she managed to pick the mangy kitten up and in a moment of wonder, a radiant light emanated from her hands and healed the kitten that she would later name Briar. Sprout attributed this to the god her family worships, Cyrrollalee. From that day forward, she dedicated her studies to becoming a cleric of the Hearthmother. Sprig followed suit, his more athletic frame lending to the work of a Paladin naturally. Together, they swore to protect the weak and innocent and defend Henview from further gnoll attacks.
At the start of our adventure, Sprout is just coming into her powers and is beginning to question the way her mother dodges every question about her father. She loves her family, and her life. And she is devoted to Cyrrollalee, the Hearthmother, who always knows best, so who is she to question things?
When Plum and Maple are abducted by more Gnolls, the twins spring into action; donning the meager supplies the town could muster, they set off into the forest to rescue their siblings. On the way, they find a halfling hermit dying of his wounds, having slowed down the Gnolls enough for Sprout and Sprig to catch up to the pack. After defeating the Gnolls and saving the monk, Perso, they buried him in the hollowed trunk of a tree in the halfling tradition.
During their return journey, they met Marielle and Kal of the Dragon Isles; an elf bard and tortle storyteller. After showing them the hospitality of the Hearthmother by letting them stay for a feast in Henview, Kal gifts the twins his latest book -- Tales of the Sea of Fallen Stars. The book magically updates with new stories as Kal adds them.
Some time passes and Sprig's blossoming romance with the captain of the town guard, Aiden, leads to both of them becoming recruits. Their combat experience meant they were well suited for the task and they happily joined up. After a year of the same everyday life in Henview, the guard traveled to Baulder's Gate to sell the season's harvest. Aiden, Sprout, Sprig, and a few other of their friends in the guard stayed behind for an evening in the city, planning to return to Henview on the following morning.
During the journey home, the party was set upon by a Hag who was torturing a halfling girl named Lilly. The small party did their best, but were overcome and at a loss when Aiden heroically sacrificed himself to the hag to save the halflings. Sprout drug everyone away, consoling Sprig the entire way home. Once home, Fern found Lilly a home with the Thistlewhistles, a pair of farmers on the outskirts of town.
Time passed, as it is wont to do, and the village moved forward, as halflings are wont to do. Sprout did her best to keep Sprig's spirits up, but she could tell he was struggling. After some months, the bounty hunter Nyx arrived in Henview, on a quest to find and capture a local bounty. The halflings befriended her quickly, and they spoke with her at length about becoming bounty hunters. Sprout knew that Sprig needed to get out of Henview; being there was too painful for him. And she missed her friends, too. They'd lost two guards during the Baulder's Gate trip that she had known as long as she'd been alive.
That was when, for the first time in a long time, Kal's book began to glow, signifying that there was a new story from him. But this time, it was also an invitation to Marielle's residency in Lyrabar on a casino ship. The three sprung at the opportunity to travel across the country to the Sea of Fallen Stars, seeing wonders along the way that Sprout was only able to dream of in her books.
Fern insisted the twins visit Lilly on their way out of town, as she had been struggling since arriving to Henview months prior. On their way to Baulder's Gate, the twins and Nyx stopped by the Thistlewhistle's farm to be greeted by a haunting sight; bodies, blood, massacre. Pillars of the community that Sprout couldn't fathom Henview existing without. Mother and Father Thistlewhistle took in orphans much like Fern Honeyfoot, and the families were close throughout Sprout's upbringing. Armed with the rage that grief brings, Sprout, Sprig, and Nyx defeated Lilly -- the Hag's daughter, in disguise as a halfling -- and did their best to pick up the pieces before setting out for Lyrabar. Part of Sprout wanted to stay behind, heal the community, but she knew nothing she could do could ease the pain of all of the death and destruction.
For Sprig's sake, she insisted they go on their trip anyway. She was worried for him, and the prospect of going to Lyrabar was the only one that seemed to bring any light back to his eyes. So they went, traveling that same road back to Baulder's Gate and boarding an airship -- something no other halfling in Henview had ever experienced. As they rose into the air, Sprout felt her heart grow lighter as the dawn of a new adventure rose. They were going to be like the heroes they read about in Kal's book!
Our adventure begins as they step off of the airship in Lyrabar and make their way to the casino and hotel. Sprout, armed with a newspaper clipping advertising the bounty hunters guild, and a new friend in Nyx, was ready for whatever this new adventure threw at her. While the Hearthmother's tenants focused around the home, something within Sprout longed for some adventure; some stories to bring home for Maple and Plum of her own. And the money would help Henview, who've lost so much in the past year, recover. No matter how far from Henview Sprout Honeyfoot roams, home resides in her heart, and she does her best to spread the tenets of the Hearth wherever she may go; hospitality, defend the weak and innocent, and an open heart.

Fern Honeyfoot
Sprig and Sprout's mother, and the healer in Henview. Fern was born in Henview and left when she was around Sprout's age for a time, as many young halflings do. When she returned, she had two babies in tow and took up the family apothecary business. Sprout hasn't ever asked about the time Fern was gone, because she seems sad when it is brought up.
Sprig Honeyfoot
Sprout's slightly older brother. They are under a year apart and essentially grew up as twins. They share a very close bond, with Sprout tending to follow Sprig wherever he ends up going. Sprig was part of the expedition to Baldur's Gate where Aiden and Barty passed away. Sprig had a quiet romance with Aiden, and took his loss hard. Sprout has spent the year since trying to help Sprig get his spark back.
Maple & Plum Honeyfoot
Sprout's younger cousins, now adopted siblings. Their parents were slain in a Gnoll attack when Sprout was young, and Fern took them in.
Sprig and Sprout's first adventure started as a rescue mission for Plum and Maple, who also were abducted by gnolls. They were rescued and brought home, on the way Sprout met Kal of the Dragon Isles and Marielle, the elven bard.
Friends
Aiden Merryweather
Deceased
The captain of the Henview guard, Sprig's boyfriend, and one of Sprout's closest friends. He was a few years older than Sprig and Sprout and was leading their expedition to Baldur's Gate. Barty Stonehill
Deceased
Another member of the guard, Barty was killed in the line of duty by a wolf.
Stewart Rumpkin

Kal of the Dragon Isles
A prolific author of The Sea of Fallen Stars: Legends and Tales among other books. Kal met Sprout and Sprig when his wagon to Baldur's Gate broke down near Henview. Religious Views
Sprout was raised in the spiritual tradition of Cyrrollalee, the Hearthmother. She is quite devout and worships with the town of Henview each Hearth Day on the first of each month. Her connection to Cyrrollalee is what led her to becoming a Cleric; she comes from a long line of halflings granted healing powers from The Hearthmother.
Her faith has yet to be tested outside of the safety of Henview, but she remains a loyal follower and tries to embody the tenets of Cyrrollalee wherever she goes.
Social Aptitude
Sprout can be annoyingly upbeat at times but has a kind heart. She just wants everyone to feel safe and okay being with her, and tends to play the host in social situations.
Hobbies & Pets
Briar Honeyfoot
Sprout's scraggly old cat, Briar, is as much a part of the family as Plum and Maple. Surprisingly long-lived for a cat, Sprout found him as a young woman wandering the hills around Henview. He'd been grievously injured by wild animals when Sprout found him. Her connection to The Hearthmother manifested that day and when she picked the cat up, his wounds were healed (though the scars remained,) through the radiant light of Cyrrollalee.
From that day on, they were never apart; Briar goes with Sprout everywhere, riding along in her cloak or pack.
