Appearance
Physical Description
In his prime Arthur stood a massive 4ft 8in, and had the physique of the mightiest of warriors, battle-honed from protecting his land constantly.
Today he is closer to 4ft 6in, and while the shadow of his past battles is still apparent in his build, he is a much older, less imposing man now (but don't tell him that).
Body Features
Arthurs entire body is marked in the scar's of his past battles, each telling a different story of his glorious deeds against the undead.
Facial Features
Sun-weathered and Battle-scarred, most of Arthur's face is covered by a thick beard, once a magnificent red reminicent of fire, it has begun to show his age as well and is now mostly grey.
Physical quirks
Arthurs age is apparent from his gait, stiff and slow, however, when battle begins the years almost seem to fall off of him as he channels the powers of Kelemvor to aid him.
Apparel & Accessories
The only notable accessory of Arthur's is his pendant, baring Kelemvor's sigil, formerly his wife Anabel's.
Mentality
Personal history
Arthur spent most of his young adulthood serving in wars against the undead as a Paladin in the Knights of the Eternal Order, defending the forgotten realms. While he was not necessarily a mercenary, he travelled the lands far and wide, making quite the name for himself as a scourge of the undead.
This all changed when, on a mission, Arthur was introduced to a newly appointed Doomguide, a beautiful human woman called Anabel. Arthur was immediately smitten, and having earned enough respect in the Order, was able to request to be assigned to her squadron. From then on, the two were inseparable, Anabel quickly reciprocating Arthur's attraction.
The years ticked on, and Arthur decided he wanted to spend as much time as he could at home with Anabel, knowing her time on this world was much more limited then his, and so he looked to his God for a way to do so.
Being some of Kelemvor's most dedicated warriors, the God was hesistant to lose such powerful assets, and was only willing to allow the couple reprieve from their duty if they agreed to find a replacement to take up Arthur's oath. They agreed to the terms, and began their life together, Arthur reliquishing his oath, a taking up the mantle of a Cleric of the Grave, helping those near death to pass on.
Arthur continued the search for a suitable replacement, not aware that Kelemvor had already made his decision, and had chosen the couples newborn son to eventually be the heir of Arthur's former glory.
Anobel refused to allow Edrick to step into this oath, and because of this Arthur did everything in his power to prevent it as well, but, the lives of humans are short and fickle, and much too soon Anobel was no longer of this world.
Even after the death of his beloved, Arthur continued to honor her wishes, keeping his son from the church, not wanting his tiresome past life to be passed on to his son, but, much to his chagrin, Edrick made the decision of his own accord when he came of age, dawning Arthurs old plate armor, and swearing an Oath of the Ancients with Kelemvor, with the promise to defend his lands from the undead scourge.
It is here where we pick up Arthur's story, searching for his lost son Edrick, who, on a mission to investigate rumors of a vampire spawn has dissappeared, leaving behind no trace.
Education
Arthur was raised and taught based on the teachings of Kelemvor, at his local church. It was here that he first learned his outlook on life and death, and also here where he eventually swore his oath to begin his journey as a Paladin.
Employment
Arthur 'worked' as a Knight of the Eternal Order, an order of knights serving Kelemvor who were sent on special missions to destroy the most powerful of undeads. It was while in this order he met his wife Anabel, a Doomguide.
Morality & Philosophy
Recognize that death is part of life. It is not an ending but a beginning, nor a punishment but a necessity. Death is an orderly process without deceit, concealment, and randomness. Help others die with dignity at their appointed time and no sooner. Speak against those that would artificially prolong their life beyond natural limits, such as the undead. Do honor to the dead, for their strivings in life brought Faerun to where it is now. Forgetting them is to forget where we are now, and why. Let no man in all Faerun die a natural death without one of Kelemvor’s clerics at his side.
Personality
Motivation
To find and protect his son Edrick, who, against Arthurs wishes, has become a Paladin of Kelemvor in Arthur's stead.
