Narsus created the Skola Vale in an effort to connect the Shadowfell to the Material World. He was a follower of Tharizdun. He is the dead statue on the ground.

 
This was the mysterious Archfey that created the Vale. He had some plans for it, which was to have it straddle the Darkfell and the Prime Material Plane, but the other Archfey's found out. They worked with a band of adventurers and killed the Archfey. Then had the Vale now reside in the Material and the Feywild which also trapped the dead Archfey and his "secrets" below into a pocket universe.

Background

Narsus once served as a powerful archfey in the Feywild, seeking to corrupt both it and the Material Plane by opening a portal to the Shadowfell. He was eventually defeated and now resides in the form of a large village-sized statue in the ground
